Final Smash Power Star/Starbit Starstorm

Rosalina and Luma makes their second return to the Super Smash Bros. franchise in Super 5mash Bros. 5. Rosalina & Luma works in a pair with Rosalina issuing orders to Luma. Despite their relationship, Rosalina doesn't need Luma to be a powerhouse herself. However, her power definitely increases as well as her range when she summons Luma. She can recall Luma back to her or fire the star forward for attacks. Aesthetically, Rosalina & Luma retain their most recent appearances in the Super Mario franchise.

Changes from Smash 4

Moveset

Special Custom Set A

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Luma Shot --- Fires the Luma sideways, where it remains afterward. If Luma isn't present, it will summon Luma next to Rosalina.
Custom 1 Luma Warp 1% Teleports the Luma a set distance away.
Custom 2 Power Luma Shot --- Fires the Luma much slower, which deals much more damage.
Side Special Star Bits 2.8% (per hit) The Luma fires some Star Bits sideways. Despite appearance, not a projectile.
Custom 1 Floaty Star Bit 2.8% (per hit) Shoots a large, slow, multi-hitting, projectile Star Bit.
Custom 2 Shooting Star Bit 5% Shoots a large, slow, multi-hitting, projectile Star Bit.
Up Special Launch Star 0% Fires Rosalina upwards.
Custom 1 Launch Star Plus 0% More distance, but no angle control.
Custom 2 Launch Star Attack 3% (first hit), 1% (loop hits), 5% (last hit) Less distance but can damage opponents.
Down Special Gravitational Pull 0% Nullifies items and projectiles.
Custom 1 Catch & Release 6% Damages nearby enemies.
Custom 2 Guardian Luma 3% (growing), 5% (shrinking) Enlarges the Luma temporarily.

Special Custom Set B

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Luma Barrier 0% Luma circles around Rosalina and will absorb any damage targeted at Rosalina. It will teleport to Rosalina if far away or will be summoned to Rosalina if a Luma is not present. Pressing the special button initiates the special move.
Custom 1 Vortex Luma Barrier 0% The Luma spins aorund Luma at a higher speed but is considerably weaker. Teleporting/summoning it is also much quicker.
Custom 2 Cosmic Luma Wind 0% Luma circles around Rosalina at a gentle speed which causes wind to push around Luma; forcing away opponents close by. It does not absorb projectiles. It grows weaker as it continues.
Side Special Star Crash 10% (Rosalina), 4% (Luma) Rosalina shoots forward at a fixed distance in the form of a glowing star. She then crashes into the opponent and knocks them away. If Luma is present, Luma will hit the opponent for hitstun and then connect it to Rosalina; both doing more damage. This results in more lag for Rosalina than without Luma.
Custom 1 Unified Star Crash 6% (w/out Luma), 14% (w/Lu,a) Rosalina will summon Luma if one is present and transform into a star; crashing forward. It cannot summon a Luma if one is not present. It does more damage with Luma.
Custom 2 Star Crash Meeting 5% (Rosalina), 5% (Luma), 10% (impact) Rosalina and Luma will turn into stars at the same time and impact each other. It does more damage if further away as it pushes opponents as they travel. The impact does the most damage though it slightly pushes the two away from each other.
Up Special Pull Star 0% Rosalina can throw the Pull star into the air. Smashing it causes Rosalina to throw it farther. When initiating the command, pushing up and then tilting the control stick quickly will result in Rosalina throwing it in that direction. If Rosalina is nearby to that star, it will pull her in and then launch her slightly into the air. The previous Warp Star will vanish if Rosalina throws another one or after being used once. It does not affect other players.
Custom 1 Sling Star 2.5% Much like the default but it doesn't pull Rosalina in if she comes close to it but it throws her up farther with knockback and damage if she hits an opponent
Custom 2 Restricted Pull Star 0% It has slightly less horizontal recovery but more vertical recovery and will pull in Rosalina more strongly. However, opponents who come near it will be pushed away. It also has a lesser duration of time before vanishing without use.
Down Special Star Spin 4.5% (per hit Rosalina), 2.5% (Luma) Rosalina and Luma will spin together. The attack slightly causes both to rise up in the air. It does multiple hits and have a vacuum effect while spinning. Rosalina does 4 rotations while Luma does quicker 6.
Custom 1 Wobbling Star Spin 3.5% (per hit Rosalina), 2% (Luma) Does less damage than the default but it has a longer reach as Rosalina and Luma will slightly move back and forth instead of up and down, In addition, it has a strong vacuum effect.
Custom 2 Prankster Star Spin 0% Rosalina and Luma turn purple while performing this attack. Instead of doing damage, it will flip the opponent back or front with each hit. They both do 3 rotations and can cause the opponent to go back, front, and back if all attacks hit. It also causes a slight lag in the opponent after being flipped.

Final Smash

Name Damage Description
Final Smash 1 Power Star 3% (small stars), 9.5% (big star loop), 14% (big star last) Rosalina summons a Power Star which begins to pulsate and grow larger. It firs Star Bits around with are random. It also has a new vacuum effect that draws in opponents. Hitting the Power Star does more damage than before.
Final Smash 2 Starbit Starstorm 4.5% (star bit), 2% (smaller starbits) Rosalina summons a storm of Starbits which crash into the ground. It functions similar to Ness' "PK Starstorm" from Super Smash Bros. Brawl though the starbits will explode; dealing more damage upon impact with the stage. When they explode, they shoot out smaller starbits which cause hitstun and damage. Rosalina summons around 25-30 Starbits.
