Rocky Balboa's Punch Out!!! is the 5th game in the punch out series and is to be realeased 10 days after the release of Rocky Balboa (A.K.A. Rocky 6). It is the first game in the series that allows the player to play as someone besides Little Mac. Even though the game is released after Rocky 6 the opponents from the Rocky series are from the first 4 movies.

Game Play

The game play is the same as previous Punch Out!!! games but adds the Stallion Punch which is actually the Star Punch except used by Rocky Balboa.

Plot

Rocky Balboa has just defeated Ivan Drago and has been deemed the greatest boxer in the world. A retired Little Mac with some encouragement from his old trainer Doc Louis enters the ring again to take the title.

After the player completes Contender Mode they unlock Title Defense and Rocky's Return. Title Defense is where the player controls Little Mac and fights every fighter again but they are stronger and have new items. Rocky's Return is where the player controls Rocky Balboa and fights every opponent except they are stronger than they are in Title Defense. For the player to move on in the modes they must complete them at the same time for example if the player completes the Minor Circut in Title Defense Mode they must complete the Minor Circut in Rocky's Return before moving on to the Major circut in both modes.

Once the player defeats Ivan Drago in Title Defense and Rocky's Return they are given a choice. Play as Little Mac and fight a stronger Rocky Balboa and protect the title or play as Rocky Balboa and fight a stronger Little Mac to take back the title. It doesn't matter wich one you choose because you could always fight the other in exibition mode.
