Pokemon Cyber Version & Pokemon Ancient Version are upcoming Pokemon Games for the Visus Sphere and Nintendo 3DS. They are the first entries in the 10th Generation of Pokemon after a prolonged time between it and the 9th Generation.
The player is a young teenager born and raised in the Elpida Region, the main setting of the game. After getting a request from the region's professor to visit the Professor's Lab they are gifted with a rare starter Pokemon starting them on their journey to become a Pokemon Master, conquering the eight gyms of the region as well as discovering an ancient past to the region connected to the mysterious companies that seek what lies below the surface.
Like most Pokemon Games, Pokemon Cyber & Ancient Versions are Role-Playing Games that have the player explore the local region finding, collecting, battling, trading, evolving, breeding and competing and making friends with Pokemon. The player's ultimate goal is to complete the Pokedex however additional goals such as becoming the Champion, stopping the evil team as well as additional side content are available to make the game more fufilling.
As there are two versions the player will find some Pokemon (including New Generation Pokemon) aren't found in their game and must be traded from the opposite Version to be obtained, in addition the player must also trade from older generations (Pokemon Anniversary Version covers all Pokemon up to and including 9th Generation) to obtain Pokemon simply not catcheable in Pokemon Cyber & Ancient Versions.
The player is able to move around in 3D Environments like they have been since Gen 6 and are able to engage in Pokemon Battles with Wild Pokemon of Pokemon owned by trainers. The player can level up their Pokemon by defeating these enemies as well as catching Wild Pokemon to add to their team. The player is also able to use various items like Potions, Full Heals and Berries to aid their Pokemon in and out of battle. The player will also find that the world has many obstacles that may require the assistance of Hidden Moves. Unlike previous generations Hidden Moves can be removed much more easily although are significantly stronger than before, imploring players to keep them on their Pokemon.
For the first time since Pokemon X & Y Version, new Types have been introduced to the game; the Cyber & Mythic Types introduced add more complexity to the now 20 Types in the game and old Pokemon see new retyping to accomodate for these two types. The Cyber Type is themed around Technology and Cybernetics and tends to mix well with Electric or Steel Types while the Mythic type pertains to Pokemon of ancient culture or that are extremely old, the Mythic Type essentially takes over all Fossil Pokemon replacing the Rock-Type if they are dual-typed.
A young local of the Elpida Region, the player's character is controlled by the player and is therefore overall a mute in comparison to other characters
The player's mother, Miera had grown up and spent her youth and young adulthood traveling the Elpida region collecting Pokemon, Miera ended up becoming a professor before she retired and helped Professor Koroneiki start his research into Pokemon behavioural patterns
A young although very focused professor, Professor Adam Koroneiki has dedicated his life to investigating the behavioural patterns of Pokemon to help people better understand the numerous creatures that inhabit the world, surprisingly friendly albeit a bit shy to new acquaintances he's willing to go to great lengths to complete his research.
Thessel City's Gym Leader, Septha grew up spending a lot of time in the forests around her city, as such she became great friends with the many Pokemon in the forests especially the Fairy-Types. Septha has since become a significant speaker for Thessel City, effectively commanding the maintenance of the forests to ensure they remain for everyone to experience.
The leader of Thinax City, Pogey is known to be an exceptionally talented artist and surprisingly good Pokemon Trainer. He has adapted his technique of Pokemon battling from his art style appearing graceful and flowing when fighting others. Pogey does however easily lose his cool and will burst into a state of rage, having his Pokemon attack with ferocity.
Finnis is known for her extensive knowledge in Astronomy and understanding of the stars. Finnis describes the stars like Bug-Type Pokemon saying there are vasts amounts of them and due to their generally small size they can form huge colonies without significant disruption of other Pokemon's ecosystems. She also appears to research Bug-Pokemon using their surprisingly sturdy workforce to help build structures for stargazing.
A Geologist whom still has a spark for Pokemon battling, Kormo is one of the oldest individuals in the Elpida Region and cares deeply about the many Pokemon he's met on his travels. He written in great length the tales of his discoveries of Pokemon Nests and Burrows whilst researching the types of ground around the Elpida Region. Although now retired, Kormo still researches the soil of the Burnt Hill as he finds it to be an interesting case of Pokemon's influence on the land.
The player's childhood friend and rival, said rivalry has stuck between the player and Olly for years and both compete to see who can be the best at a variety of things. Olly has a pretty positive attitude only really showing disappointment when he loses a battle, Olly is very dedicated and task-driven wanting to become the best trainer in Elpida.
Professor Koroneiki's Assistant and helper to the player throughout their journey, Danielle is an expert Pokemon Trainer have collected a large sum of Pokemon in her youth, although no longer a battling Trainer she does help young Pokemon in learning the basics of survival. She is researching a branch of Koroneiki's work in which she looks at how Pokemon born in captivity survive in the wild and will encounter the player throughout their journey giving them special items throughout.
