Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:

Ruin Seekers

Developer(s) Poisonshot
Publisher(s) Nintendo
Platform(s) Wii U
Genre(s) Roguelike
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ruin Seekers is a roguelike Pokémon spin-off. It is the sixth game in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. The game has a large focus on ruins, hence the name. The game introduces a few game mechanics, while still staying similar to the other installments. Most of the story's events are linked to a villain, who is confirmed to be an human who was transformed into a Pokémon. It is the first PMD game to be on the Wii U. This choice was made because the Wii U is superior to the 3DS in graphics and power, and the games are not centered about connectivity.

Gameplay

Characters

Main Protagonists

The Human

The Human, or rather one of the two humans shown in the game, is the main character and the one the player will use. He is a brave Pokémon who knows his limits, but will always try saving Pokémon in trouble.

The player can choose what Pokémon they play as, as well. They can even choose thier name and gender.

The Partner

The Partner is the hero's main ally. He or she is a smart Pokémon who's calm and respects the rules. However, he is very weak and is actually kind of a coward. He secretely wants to adventure, despite this.

The player can choose the Partner's gender and name, like themselves. They can also be any Pokémon who wasn't chosen by the player, unlike the other games where they couldn't be the same type.

Pokémon Availlable

There are a lot of choices for the Pokémon the player and it's partner can be. Effectively, there are 10 Pokémon per generation availlable. There's a total of 8 Pokemon for each starter type: the starters from the 7 generations plus one extra Pokémon per type.
