The Pokémon series are a series of role-playing games set in several different regions including Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos. The series focuses around a young player who is out to become a Pokémon master. Out of Nintendo's 3 flagship series, it is the most recent to debut and one of the last Nintendo IP's of the nineties to debut.

Sub-Series
The Pokémon series being as popular as it is has spawned a few series spin offs which focus around all sorts of different things and have a different play style to the original series.
Litle P and Sandslash
Main Article: Litle P and Sandslash (series)
One of the most popular spin off franchises it focuses around Pokémon as opposed to people and is not focused on the catching of Pokémon in fact you can not catch Pokémon at all.
Police Acadamy

Another spinoff. It focuses around Humans in a more personal way and is a free romaing platformer where the characters move around in a story as a police officer in the Pokémon world interacting and co-operating with Pokémon in a new way.
Pokémon: Legends of Mew

In this game, Xyphyl, a red Mew, goes on an adventure to rescue the kidnapped Princess Blooe. He is trying to prove how awesome a red Mew can truly be!
