Pokémon is a film in the FANCU series based on the popular Pokémon franchise, produced by Laughball Pictures. It draws most of its inspiration from the original Pokémon Red and Green games, with elements from Pokémon Yellow added along with various original elements.
- In a world where elemental creatures known as Pokémon live alongside humans, a young boy named Red goes on a journey across the region of Kanto to learn more about the creatures and become the top trainer in the region. However, not all is normal in Kanto, as a mysterious organization plots for control of the region and its people...
Laughball Pictures got the rights for a film based on Pokémon in 2013, as a part of the process of FANCU deciding who would produce the various Nintendo franchises. Originally planned to be a CGI picture, it was eventually decided that the film would be produced with traditional animation, as an artistic choice that 'matches the tone of the film'. The producers have said that the art style chosen is based on watercoloring with designs more based on the original art produced for Red and Green.
