The Ice Climbers are two young children named Popo and Nana who love to climb ice mountains. They mainly climb the Infinite Glacier, as it can go on for ages, and the two like a challenge. Despite their closeness, Popo and Nana are not related or in love, but are simply very close friends. They usually assist each other in climbing the mountains, and they both defeat the enemies that rest on those mountains. Although the Ice Climbers have only had a single game, they have made many recent appearances in other series. There is also a third IC named Lolo, but rarely appears and therefore is considered not to be part of the team.

Popo is one of the Ice Climbers. He is a young boy who lives in a village in a mountainous area with his friend, Nana. He is also good friends with Lolo. He will be a main character in Super Smash Bros. Adventure, Balloon Bomber, and Ice Climber DS.

Nana is one of the Ice Climbers and she is good friends with Popo. She appears in every Super Smash Bros game alongside Popo.
[edit] Super Smash Bros. Adventure
The Ice Climbers will appear as playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Adventure. They are playable in both Adventure and Classic Mode. The Ice Climbers will appear in World 8: Icicle Mountain, and the two will be the sole playable characters in that world. However, they are not teamed up like in Melee, but instead they will fight alone. However, if one loses a life, or finishes a level, the other takes over for that turn.

The Ice Climbers will be appearing in the upcoming game Balloon Bomber as main characters. Not much else is known, but they are confirmed to be going to Balloonberg Mountain.

The Ice Climbers will once again do what they do best in Ice Climber 2. Not much is confirmed as of now.
