Mii Mage (マジックファイター, Magic Fighter) appears as a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. V, revealed before the Nintendo direct on August 8, 2018 along with the returning Mii Fighters.

The Mii Fighters are confirmed to have more outfits.

Moveset

Mii Mages run noticeably slower than Mii Brawlers. They don't jump as high and don’t possess the ability to wall jump. They are excellent ranged and technical fighters but they can hold their own at close range. Most of their moves involve a magical aura of some type.

Ground Attacks

Name Damage Description
Neutral Attack 2%, 4%, 6% Hits opponent with wand, followed by a jab, then blast of aura. The blast of aura does high knockback.
Neutral Combo
Dash Attack 11% (clean), 8% (late) Pushes a magic aura forward with wand.
Forward Tilt 4% (each) Shoots 2 small spheres of magic.
Up Tilt 8% Waves a magic aura in the air. Good Juggle and combo capability.
Down Tilt 4% Waves wand down creating half barrier of lightning. Can be used for defensive purposes.
Forward Smash 15% Shocks the opponent with a large aura of magic.
Up Smash 16% Click once to set up a cloud of magic that stays in the air for a limited amount of time. Click or charge to release a powerful blast of energy from the clouds. Charging the smash makes the blast really intense (and powerful, of course). Good for trapping.
Down Smash 14% Creates a powerful vortex of fire in a 360 turn with wand.

Aerial Attacks

Name Damage Description
Neutral Aerial 1% (hits 1-7), 7% (hit 8) Surrounds themselves within a veil of aura that hits multiple times. The final hit doing good knockback. Works very similar to Mewtwo’s Neutral Aerial in SSB4.
Forward Aerial 10% Swipes a slash of energy forward. High critical hit chance.
Back Aerial 12% Creates a rod of energy behind themselves. Good range and high knockback.
Up Aerial 5% (hit 1), 6% (hit 2) Strikes above their head with arms from left to right, creating trails of magic aura and launching targets upward. Good for juggles. Similar to Peach’s Up Aerial.
Down Aerial 12% Creates a sword-like magic aura which they slam down initiating a meteor smash on contact.

Grabs and Throws

Pummel 2.2% *Grabs with aura of magic projected by wand, medium range* Damages opponent with energy.
Forward Throw 5% Simply throws opponent forward.
Back Throw 9% Throws opponent in an overhead arc.
Up Throw 2% (throw), 9% (wave) Throws opponent up sending a wave of magic at them. The wave can hit interfering objects/fighters (excluding platforms like those on Battlefield.
Down Throw Magic Slams opponent downward. The opponent does not make contact with the ground but goes through it coming out behind Mii Mage possibly leading to a Back Air follow up. Considered one of Mii Mage’s best moves. The grab does not deal damage, so it’s possible it was made for combo purpose only.

Floor Attack (back) 7% Spins around with spikes of energy around them.
Floor Attack (trip) 5% Slaps wand around.
Edge Attack 6% Gets up tapping wand forward.

Special Attacks

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Charge Inferno 5% (min), 20% (max) Charges a blast of fire with wand and fires it. Hits multiple times depending on time charged.
Alternate 1 Jupiter Lance 6% (min), 22% (max) Charges electricity with their hands and fires it very similarly to Robin’s thoron. Has more range and power the more it’s charged and pierces fighters.
Alternate 2 Mii Grunt Summon Mii Grunt Attack: 13% Summons a large Dismantled-Faced Mii being which walks about for a little while slamming anything in sight with a strong arm attack.
Side Special Voltage Seekers 2.5% (each) Fires 2 homing like projectiles with their hands which paralyze opponents for considerable amount of time. Can be reflected.
Alternate 1 Frigid Beam 6% Fires a beam of ice with their which freezes enemies at higher percentages. Can be reflected.
Alternate 2 Sleepify 0.5% Taps opponent with aura shrouded wand which puts the opponent to sleep on contact. It’s harder to wake up at higher percentages. Very short range. Leaves Mii Mage a bit vulnerable if shielded or evaded.
Up Special Aura Boost Shrouds themselves with an aura of magic which sends upwards. They are invincible during the movement.
Alternate 1 Starflight Assault 14% Shoots a beam with finger the same texture as Mewtwo’s up smash in SSB4 downwards which sends them upwards. Can damage opponents dealing high damage and knockback. Initiates a meteor smash upon contact in mid air.
Alternate 2 Miiling Summon Summons a Mini-Mii Angel like being which carries them upwards similar to Duck Hunt’s Up Special in SSB4. Can tap B to be drop and can attack out of drop (not helpless when dropped, meaning can even use the move again).
Down Special Grand Recovery Does a spell which heals 0.5% damage. Average animation speed.
Alternate 1 Ranged Assegai 8% Does a spell in which they pull out an assegai made of aura from the ground which they throw at opponents. Fairly slow, but powerful. Explosion after contact deals large knockback and has a good blast radius.
Alternate 2 Alpha Screen Brings out flat, wall-like aura from the ground which reflects projectiles back much more powerful.
Final Smash Ultimate Summon Flying Creatures: 8%, Ground Creatures: 15%, Crawling Creatures Attack: 3%, 12% (slash) Summons a horde of different creatures which walk around attacking anything in sight very similar to the Mii Grunt except these are much smaller and have different jobs. The flying creatures attack anything in the air. The ground creatures slam foes away on the ground. The crawling creatures stay on the lowest level of ground tripping opponents, then slashing at them.
