The Mii Brawler makes it's second return to the Super Smash Bros. franchise in Super 5mash Bros. 5. One of the Mii Fighters alongside Mii Swordfighter, Mii Gunner, Mii Mage, and Mii Athlete. The Mii Brawler utilizes powerful melee-oriented attacks and generally has high speed and attack powers. The Mii Brawler has access to three Mii Specializations: Mii Monk, Mii Kickboxer, and Mii Grappler.

Changes from Smash 4

  • Mii Brawler loses the Neutral Special default "Shot Put" in exchange for "Blasting Punch". Shot Put went to the default Neutral Special for the Mii Athlete.

Moveset

Special Custom Set A

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Blasting Punch 12% (clean), 8% (late) Mii Brawler jumps forward and slams his fist into the ground; creating an explosion which knocks opponents upwards.
Custom 1 Ultimate Uppercut 8%/5% (ground uncharged), 22%/17% (ground fully charged), 6.4%/4% (air uncharged), 15.4%/11.9% (air fully charged) A chargeable uppercut similar to Giant Punch in function. It does not deal any extra damage unless it is fully charged, but give the Brawler super armor while charging to compensate.
Custom 2 Exploding Side Kick 25%/23% (ground), 27%/25% (ground reverse), 21.25%/19.55% (air), 22.95%/21.25% (air reverse) Dashing forwards with their foot on fire, extended in a kick. Functions like the Falcon Punch, and it is possible to turn around before unleashing the kick. The sweetspot of the attack is the foot.
Side Special Onslaught 1.2% (ground loop hits), 1% (air loop hits), 4% (last hit) Charges forward with their knee and fist out. If the attack hits, the Mii Brawler will launch into a series of kicks that ends with an uppercut. The finishing hit is similar to Captain Falcon's Raptor Boost.
Custom 1 Burning Drop Kick 10%-18% Extends both legs in front of them, charging forward to deliver a double kick while caught on fire. Is charged up similarly to the Green Missile.
Custom 2 Headache Maker 4% (start up), 13%/10% (clean), 9% (late) Performs a mid-air split while doing a falling punch with both fists. Is a powerful meteor smash.
Up Special Soaring Axe Kick 4% (hit 1), 3% (hit 2), 4% (hit 3) Performs an upward flip kick that is followed by a meteor-smashing axe kick. Similar to Kirby's Final Cutter. Can be used as a Sacrificial KO.
Custom 1 Helicopter Kick 3% (ground hit 1), 2% (air hit 1), 2% (hits 2-5), 6% (hit 6) A flurry of kicks while travelling diagonally upward, similar to Fox's Forward aerial. Does good damage and allows for long horizontal recovery, but lacks vertical lift.
Custom 2 Piston Punch 3% (hit 1), 1% (hits 2-7), 2% (hit 8) Jumps upwards while performing a flurry of punches, similar to Little Mac's up special. Has good KO potential. Recovery-wise, it has the best vertical distance of the Brawler's up specials, but little horizontal movement.
Custom 1 Head-On Assault 4% (ground leap), 8% (drop), 8% (impact) Falls downwards at a high speed, head aimed at the ground, like Yoshi's ground pound. This move can bury grounded opponents and meteor smash aerial ones.
Custom 1 Feint Jump 8% Flips off the ground and, when the special button is pressed again, performs a divekick while surrounded by a purple aura. Functions very similarly to Zero Suit Samus's Flip Jump.
Custom 2 Foot Flurry 1% (ground hits 1-8), 6% (ground hit 9), 1% (air hits 1-7), 6% (air hit 8) Extends their foot forwards and delivers a number of rapid kicks in front of them, similar to Fox's neutral attack. If done in the air, the Mii will stop in midair to perform the move. The Mii won't stop in midair is Foot Flurry is used subsequent times after the first.

Mii Monk Move Set

Neutral Special Focus Palm 0% Holding down the special button charges the effect which, when finished, buffs punching moves for a small period of time.
Custom 1 Focus Sole 0% Holding down the special button charges the effect which, when finished, buffs kicking moves for a small period of time.
Custom 2 Focus Heart 0% Holding down the special button charges the effect which, when finished, very slightly buffs both punching and kicking attacks.
Side Special Dancing Fist 4% (first hit), 2% (second hit), 6% (third hit), 3% (fourth hit), 5.5% (last hit) Performs a focused punch attack. Press the special again causes the Mii Monk to move into a double fist push. GFollowing this, inputing the special button causes the Mii to perform attacks. The third attack is a knee hit, the fourth attack is a backwards palm strike, and the last hit is a forceful ground stomp.
Custom 1 Dancing Stream Fist 2% (first hit), 1.5% (second hit), 5% (third hit), 2% (fourth hit), 4.5% (last hit) The attacks remain the same but, instead, they are easier to connect, faster, but significantly weaker.
Custom 2 Hi Dancing Fist 2% (first hit), 2% (second hit), 4% (third hit), 1.5% (fourth hit), 8% (last hit) The first four hits are much weaker but the final hit will launch the opponent upwards; dealing more damage,
Up Special Chi Palm 3% (top), 8.5% (down) Delivers a powerful palm attack that launches the player into the air. If performed int he air, it meteors can opponent.
Custom 1 Doubled Chi Palm 5% (top), 10% 8down) Does more damage and flies twice as high but has very slow start up and landing lag.
Custom 2 Chi Multi-Palm 2.5% (per hit) Perform three palm strikes will quick succession which boosts him upwards. The attacks do less damage and knockback.
Down Special Deflecting Blow 18% (clean), 15% (late), 8% (whiff) Mii Brawler can catch the opponents attack via a counter and deflect it while attacking the opponent back with a forceful palm thrust.
Custom 1 Deflecting Throw 12% It catches the opponents attack and throws them forward; dealing less damage than the default but leaving a longer window of time for it to connect.
Custom 2 Deflecting Glance 0% Instead of hitting the opponent back, the Mii Monk throws the opponent off balance which causes them to trip with elongated lag.

Mii Kickboxer Move Set

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Dashing Combo 3% (first hit), 2.3% (loop) Mii Kickboxer will rush forward slightly. When it connects, it will cause the Mii to push the character forward; doing damage and then launching into a fury of punches and kicks that deal 7 hits followed by a powerful kick attack.
Custom 1 Pushing Dash Combo 2.8% (loop) Instead of the connection dealing damage, the attack will push opponents forward and then will unleash a steady rush of kicks and punches at the opponent. Less damaging but delivers more attacks.
Custom 2 Glancing Dash Combo 4%, 3.2% (loop) Instead of pushing opponents back, it simply passes by opponents while damaging them. Mii Kickboxer then unleashes a steady stream of attacks regardless who is there though they do less hits comparatively to the default.
Side Special Thrust Kick 15% (sweetspot), 8% (sourspot), 3% (whiff) The Mii Kickbower delivers a foot thrust that damages opponents in front of the Mii and can damage shields. When it connects, it can do freeze frames that results in the opponent being launched. It does less damage if it whiffs.
Custom 1 Breaking Thrust Kick 8% (sweetspot), 4% (sourspot), 1.5% (whiff) It generally does weaker damage but it is more effective against shields than the default. It is also slightly faster.
Custom 2 Heaven Thrust Kick 13% (sweetspot), 10% (sourspot), 4% (whiff) Weaker but it aims upwards and can be used to knock opponents upwards. Less divide between the sweet and sourspots and whiff.
Up Special Rising Roundhouse Kick 2.3% (loop), 7% (last) Mii Kickboxer performs several kicking rotations while in the air that slightly rises the character upwards. Th eplayer can slightly influence the trajectory of the attacks movement.
Custom 1 Hurricane Roundhouse Kick 4.5% (loop), 4% (last) Has much more damage to it and sucks into opponents as the Mii travels upwards. As a result, it has less recovery distance.
Custom 2 Roundhouse Gale Kick 8% Instead of catching opponents, it does one hit which hits opponents upwards for vertical knockback. It has more vertical traveling distance.
Down Special Cross Punch 14% (clean), 6% (late) Mii Kickboxer delivers a cross punch that, if it connects as a clean punch, causes damage but zero knockback. Instead, it causes the opponent to collapse. It puts aerial opponents into a helpless state if performed in the air. If late, it launches the opponent with below average knockback.
Custom 1 Dashing Cross Punch 12% (clean), 6% (late) Instead of standing still, the Mii dashes forward a dew distance to deliver the Cross Punch. If late, it delivers below average knockback.
Custom 2 Delayed Cross Punch 17% (clean), 6% (late) Does more damage but it has start up lag. Mii Kickboxer goes to punch, pauses, and then releases the attack.

Mii Grappler Move Set

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Headbutt 2% (grab), 18% (headbutt) Mii Grappler grabs the opponent and slams his/her head into the opponent. It does knockback and a meteor if performed in the air though it can Miiicide the Mii.
Custom 1 Burying Headbutt 3% (grab), 20% (headbutt) Does more damage but it has considerable lag. It will bury the opponent after being hit.
Custom 2 Multi-Headbutt 5%, 5%, %% The Mii Grappler performs 3 condectuive headbutts which launches the opponent away.
Side Special Shoulder Bash 17% Mii Grappler charges forward; slamming his/her shoulder forward. The Mii will stop once it connects to an opponent; launching them away.
Custom 1 Battering Shoulder 5.3% (loop) The Mii Grappler charges forward; doing consecutive hits while pushing the opponent further forward.
Up Special Body Slam 5% (jump), 4% (descent air), 8% (land ground) The Mii Grappler jumps, knocking opponents into the air, and then descends back down; slamming into opponents. It does more damage when the opponent lands.
Custom 1 Rotating Body Slam 2% (jump), 3.2% (loop), 6% (land ground) Mii Grappler jumps into the air and rotates which does damage with hitstun. It does less damage but it has more chance for hitstun attacks.
Custom 2 Hovering Body Slam 5% (jump), 10% (descent), 7% (land ground) Mii Grappler jumps into the air, pauses while at the pinnacle of the jump, and then slams back down; dealing more damage in the air rather than the ground.
Down Special Suplex 3% (grab), 5% (launch), 13% (land) Mii Grappler grabs the opponent, launches into the air, and then comes back down; dealing damage when it connects to the ground. It spikes the opponent upwards.
Custom 1 Burying Suplex 3% (grab), 6.5% (launch), 14% (land) Instead of spiking opponents upwards, Mii Grappler buries the opponent into the ground.
Custom 2 Soaring Suplex 3% (grab), 8% (launch), 12% (land) Does less damage overall but quicker and has more horizontal traveling distance compared to the default.

Final Smash

Note: Mii Brawler shares the same Final Smashes with it's Mii Specializations.

Final Smash 1 Omega Blitz 5% (startup), 0.8% (hits 1-16), 15% (hit 17) Kicks the target into the air and batters them with attacks before smashing them back downwards. Functions similarly to Great Aether.
Final Smash 2 Mii Parade Varies Mii Brawler summons his/her Mii friends. Mii's from within the the console or handheld will appear and begin attacking the opponent with punches and kicks. If there aren't any Miis, random Mii's are generated. The Mii does various amounts of damage.

Taunts

Italics means they have to be unlocked.

  • Backflips, then performs a crane pose. (Up)
  • Performs two kung fu poses in a row. (Left)
  • Punches twice towards the screen. (Right)
  • (Mii Brawler) Cracks knuckles and jumps up slightly as it stretching.

(Mii Monk) Folds hands as if in prayer and closes eyes. (Mii Kickboxer) Does a thumbs up towards the camera. (Mii Grappler) Flexes muscles and grins at the camera. (Down)

Character Selection Screen

  • Punches fist into the air.
  • Cracks fists and smiles.
  • Punches towards the screen and smiles.

On Screen Appearance

  • The Mii Brawler punches in to the stage.
  • Descends down from the top with a landing punch.
  • Comes from the side and holds up hands in victory.

Victory Animations

Note: Mii Brawler shares the same Victory Poses with it's Mii Specializations.

  • Punches many times toward the screen, then poses.
  • Does a punch and kick combo, and poses.
  • Cartwheels into the foreground, does a roundhouse kick, and poses.
  • Punches into the air a few times and then holds up hands as if in victory while smiling.
  • Mii Brawler flips a few times and then punches at the screen; cracking it.
  • Mii Brawler performs a few stretches and then punches forward.

Losing Animations

  • Mii Brawler claps his/her hands while looking forward.
  • Mii Brawler hangs his/her in shame.
  • Mii Brawler appears to be busy and rocking back and forth.

Victory Fanfare

A flourished remix of the second half of the riff of "You Will Know Our Names", the battle theme used in Xenoblade Chronicles when fighting a unique monster.

Idle Poses

  • Takes different fighting stances.
  • Unclenches fists and moves them downward.
  • Holds out his fist which shakes with anticipation.
  • Makes a "Come here" motion with a finger.

Trophies

Mii Brawler's trophies can be earned by completing Classic Mode, Adventure Mode, All-Star Mode, and Boss Battle mode. In addition, further trophies can be found during matches and at the Trophy Shop.
