Special Moves

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Shadow Ball 2.5% (minimum charge), 25% (full charge) Mewtwo fires a large, purple projectile that can be charged. Has quite a long charge time, but the projectile gains incredible KO potential at full charge, KOing at 112%. If used in the air, Mewtwo will recoil backwards a great amount, which can help or hinder its recovery.
Alternate 1 Steady Shadow Ball 2.2% (minimum charge), 21% (full charge) A slower Aura Sphere. Has an additional vacuum effect that pulls opponents towards the sphere.
Alternate 2 Threatening Shadow Ball 2% (minimum charge), 19% (full charge) A faster Shadow Ball that passes through opponents.
Side Special Confusion ≈9.0495% (throw), 1.4x (reflected projectiles) Mewtwo summons a ripple of psychic energy in front of it. Treated as a grab, the ripple can spin opponents around, dropping them in front of Mewtwo which allows it to followup with other attacks, or reflect projectiles. In the air, the first use gives Mewtwo a slight vertical boost.
Alternate 1 Confusing Force 5% (throw), 1.2x (reflected projectiles) Instead of dropping opponents in front of Mewtwo the energy pushes opponents back violently. It still reflects projectiles but weaker.
Alternate 2 Psychic 7% (shake), 4% (throw) Mewtwo “grabs” the opponent with psychic energy and shakes them up and down before sending them flying back.
Up Special Teleport Mewtwo disappears, reappearing soon after in a different place. It is completely invulnerable during the move. Has less endlag if teleporting directly back onto the ground.
Alternate 1 Psych Up 4% Mewtwo’s Eyes glow yellow as it boosts upwards. It deals slight damage but can only go upwards vertically (slightly diagonally).
Alternate 2 Teleport Ace 2% The teleporting is more stalled than the default Teleport but there is now a hit box.
Down Special Disable 1% Mewtwo crouches and quickly stares at an opponent, making them stunned. Only works if the opponent is facing Mewtwo and is at eye level with it. If the opponent is in the air, they are knocked back with set knockback. Useful at high percentages to guarantee a KO, but difficult to land.
Alternate 1 Future Sight 1.4x A counter. Mewtwo retaliates by a exerting a powerful psychic energy that blast the attacker back.
Alternate 2 Power Swap Mewtwo glows momentarily. After this, one of the two will happen - Either Mewtwo’s Power is increased for decreased defense or the opposite for a short period of time.
Final Smash Psystrike 42% Mewtwo transforms into Mega Mewtwo Y and sends out a ball of powerful psychic energy. Any opponent it catches will be stunned, then launched by an intense mental shock.
