Mario and Luigi: Fawful's Return is the sixth installment of the Mario and Luigi series. This game takes place between Dream Team and Paper Jam. It will be developed by Alpha-Dream, with assistance from Square-Enix. The game's graphics resembles the graphics from the Superstar Saga remake. In this story, Fawful is resurrected by Midbus, and begins his plans of taking over the world.
After being defeated in Bowser's Inside Story, Midbus survived the attack and started to hide in Fawful's spare underground lab. Midbus begins to read out a ritual to resurrect Fawful with Fawful's remaining particles in a glass tube. All of a sudden, there was a big explosion. Midbus woke up from hearing "I HAVE CHORTLES!!!". Now, Fawful is revived, and he begins to start a new plan to take over the world, once again.
Meanwhile, Mario is invited to Peach's party to celebrate another victory against Bowser. During the party, Bowser crashes into the party, yelling "I"M BAAAAAACKKKK!!!!" at the top of his lungs. While trying to kidnap Peach, Bowser was easily defeated by Mario. The Koopa King then disappeared into a puff of smoke. Then the REAL Bowser then kidnapped Peach while Mario was fighting the fake Bowser. After Luigi and Starlow arrived, the Toads were freaking out everywhere. Starlow then takes Mario and Luigi to the sewers. She then begins to train the duo the basics. After doing that, the find Fawful who's placing dynamite under the castle. Shocked, the trio begin asking questions. Fawful then says the story about his revival, and saying his new plan will be "the sundae of destruction". However, they defuse the dynamite, and Fawful retreats in his new "Fawful Pod" (Fawful's hovercraft made in his image), and destroys the castle using a Time Bob-omb.
Fawful's world-conquering service has finally been resumed. Hell-bent on destroying the duo, and the great Goomba's army, Fawful's is going ALL-OUT on his NEW plan
