Mario Party: Minigame Adventure
Mario Party: Minigame Adventure is a game for the Nintendo Wii U featuring Super Mario and his friends. It is a spin-off title in the Mario Party series, set to be released in 2016. It features many elements from the older games in the series, and it throws some new elements into the mix.
The player must use Wii Remotes when playing in multiplayer modes, which support a maximum of 4 players, or the Wii U Gamepad when in single player.
The biggest change is the large focus on single player modes, especially the Story Mode. Story Mode unlocks a lot of the game's content, so it is quite important to play through it.
The game plays like a mix of Mario Party 9 and Mario Party 10, but adds many new mechanics. It also takes inspiration from the Wii Party games. The one of the most most prominent and noticable ones is that some minigames and game modes have to be unlocked through a variety of different methods.
The character roster is quite large compared to other games in the Mario Party series, having 24 playable characters, including Miis, which wear Mario-themed costumes.
Free Play is a mode returning from many previous Mario Party installments. There is no goal, and players can choose what minigames they play. All of the minigames that the player has unlocked are available. Free For All, 1 vs All, Pair, 1 vs 1, Bowser Jr and Boss Battle minigame types are all available.
Here, 1-4 players can set up a tournament with up to 16 competitors and as many rounds and minigames as they want. Players can choose all the rules, including the minigames played, the time limit, and the winning requirements.
The Party mode returns, working the same as in Mario Party 9.
