MarioKart U (known as Mario Kart: Ultra Dash in Japan and Europe) is a racing game in production by ALG Inc. and is the sequel to MarioKart Wii. The game's logo design veries between countires, the orignal orange Mario Kart logo is used in the Japanese logo, while other countries have the current Mario Kart logo.

GameplayEdit

Like MarioKart 7, players can customize their own karts, however they now are able to save up to 10 different combinations and even give them names. A new item has also been confirmed, the Magic U. Some special kart parts and cups are downloadable via the Mario Kart U Shop (Wireless Internet Required). Another new feature is the Course Builder, which let's players create their own courses, however, this feature must be unlocked, and new backgrounds and parts will be unlocked as the player progresses through the game.

Banana Will knock out any racers who hit it. Common
Triple Banana Gives the player three Bananas. Uncommon
Green Shell Any player hit by this will flip out. Common
Triple Green Shell Gives the player three Green Shells. Uncommon
Red Shell Will target the racer in front of the player and will flip them out. Common
Triple Red Shell Gives the player three Red Shells. Uncommon
Spiny Shell Targets the lead racer and flips them out with a large explosion. Rare
Teal Spiny Shell Will target each racer in front of the player (targeting the racer in front of the player and then the next) and blast a powerful blow on the lead racer. Rare
Bob-omb After thrown, the Bob-omb will blow up after a few seconds and flip out racers caught in the blast. Uncommon
Star Will make the player invincible for a short time. Rare
Fire Flower Allows the player to throw fireballs for a short time. Rare
Super Leaf Gives the player a raccoon tail, which they can use the flip out other racers. Uncommon
Mushroom Gives the player a short boost. Common
Double Mushroom Gives the player two Mushrooms. Uncommon
Triple Mushroom Gives the player three Mushrooms. Uncommon
Golden Mushroom Gives the player an unlimited amount of speed boosts until the item expires. Rare
Yellow Shell Acts like a Green Shell, but will explode when it hits a player. Uncommon
Magic U Will give the player an amazing speed boost, which takes them to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Rare

CupsEdit

A total of 14 course cups have been confirmed, 8 normal cups, and 6 downloadable cups. The player can also create up to 4 of their own custom cups, each using 4 custom courses from the Course Builder. The ability to create cups is unlocked after the player creates 4 courses. Like courses, cups can be deleted, if a course is deleted and is in a custom cup, the cup will be deleted with the course.
