Mario Kart Alpha is the latest installment to the Mario Kart series. The game is being developed by Pixel Perfect Co. for the Nintendo Alpha. The game's release is set for the holiday season of 2013, a specific date has yet to be decided. The game is to utilize a new peripheral, the Arcade Wheel.
Play through one cup of four races. Whoever has the most points at the end of the races wins the cup. This mode can be played locally with one to four players.
A single-player game where a player races through a select course. Records and time trial ghosts can be shared online.
Play through a course, trying to beat the set time. The time can either be the "recommended" time, your best time, or a time preset by the player. This mode can be played by up to four players locally.
Play through a set amount of races (anywhere from just one to all thirty-two, or infinite), accumulating points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the races wins. This can be played with up to four players locally or ten players online.
Play a certain amount of battles (one to ten, or infinite), and whoever wins the most battles is victorious. This game can be played with four players locally and ten players online.
