Mario Kart 9 is a racing game developed primarily by Nintendo EAD, with assistance from Namco Bandai Games, for the NX. It is the ninth installment in the main Mario Kart series (hence the game's name) and, including the arcade games, the twelfth overall. This installment is the follow-up game of the Wii U title Mario Kart 8.

Many additions made in previous installment of the series return, including anti-gravity, gliding, underwater driving, and kart customizing. New features introduced in this title include the return of a Double Dash mode; Hovercrafts, which allow you to race above water; and deeper customization, including decals for vehicles, custom emblems (returning from Mario Kart DS) and more kart parts.
