Mario Kart: Liquid Cruise is an upcoming Nintendo Switch game planned for release in early 2019.
Gameplay
Like in Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8, you will be able to customize your vehicle with different karts, bikes, wheels and gliders, the racing gameplay is pretty much the same, anti-gravity, underwater racing and gliding will return, along with a new type of gameplay: Boats.
This will be the first Mario Kart game where you can drive on top of the water with boats, there will be water-drifting, and along with boats you will be able to play on jet-skis as well. Some courses are complete water-filled, and some you can drive on land as well. The change from land to water and vise-versa will be marked by a green boost-pad, like anti-gravity pads.

New Items
- Red Banana
A bigger, red banana that can be placed down. Works like a normal banana, except it is bigger, making it harder to avoid. Available to people in 3rd place or downwards.
- Gold Flower (Coin Runners)
Only available in the Coin Runners battle mode. Only available to people in last place, will act like a Fire Flower but will shoot gold that will turn into coins for players to collect. Best used in close areas so others can't pick it up.
- Double Cherry (Battle Only)
Only available in Battle mode, and in Double Item Boxes. Used as a second item, that automatically will become the first item held. Useful for people who get a star. Available to people in 4th place or downwards.
- Mini Mushroom
Will turn the player tiny, but makes them go faster. Can run into other players to spin them out. Available to people in 4th place or downwards.

Trivia
-Originally, King Bob-omb was going to be playable, but was changed to Petey Pirahna for unknown reasons.
-The course Wario Woods is a reference to a earlier Nintendo game of the same name.
