The coin gives the player a micro boost. They can be found on the track, as well as in groups of five in item blocks.
Rings are the Sonic the Hedgehog version of Coins, and serve the same purpose. They replace coins on Sonic tracks, and are collected by using the Super Ring item. Like the Bell and Coin, they can also be found in groups of five in Item Blocks.
Bells are the Animal Crossing equivalent of Coins. They serve the exact same purpose and can only be found on Animal Crossing tracks. They can be found on the track and in item blocks in groups of 5.
The super Mushroom gives the player's kart a small boost.
Similar to the Super Mushroom, but can be used many times over a short period.
The mega mushroom turns the user giant, crushing obstacles and other racers in their path.
The Cookie Cat grants immunity to one item.
The Warp Star turns the player's kart into said item for a short period of time. Functions similarly to a Bullet Bill, but propels players through the air rather than on the ground, and therefore does not affect other players unless they are also in the air.
Star Bits are a projectile item that knocks other players back, and can be used several times over a short period.
The Super Ring gives the player 10 rings. It can only be used on Sonic the Hedgehog tracks.
The Super Star makes the user faster and invincible.

An item from the Animal Crossing series, it contains a swarm of bees that move towards players that come too close and attack them, but can be gotten rid of if they use a boost of any kind or Super Horn. The swarm follows the player when held, and when thrown stays where the hive landed until an enemy racer comes along. However, if it is held for too long without being thrown, the bees will attack the user instead.
The Roman Candle damages and knocks back other drivers if they collide with the user. It can only be held, and cannot be thrown or consumed. It burns out after a while.
The Super Horn emits a shockwave that hits racers, destroys obstacles (Including projectiles, such as Shells), and scares away Bees.
