Mario Hoops 3-On-3 Switch is an upcoming Mario sports title for the Nintendo Switch featuring the sport Basketball. Mario Hoops 3-On-3 Switch closely follows its predecessor on the switch, but now ith new modes, new characters, new courts, and much more. The games main mechanics are Team Specials and Super Team Specials which can only be done if you choose characters on the same team.

Modes[]

Training[]

Training is a simple mode that teaches you how to do certain things within the game such as blocking, dunking, and coin collecting. This mode also features a Special Arena where you can check out your character's Specials, Team Specials, and Super Team Specials. By completing all of the training exercises you will unlock an exclusive ball.

Tourney[]

Tourney is very similar to the Tourney Mode in Mario Hoops 3-On-3. You must climb up the bracket battling three different computer teams. If you beat all three teams ou will win a trophy for the cup selected. Characters cannot be changed when the tourney is started and tourney data can be saved or deleted at any time.

Online Tourney[]

Online Tourney is very similar to the Online Tournament in Mario Tennis Aces. Just like in Tourney mode you must climb up the bracket battling three different teams however now you are battling actual opponents via online communications. You can choose to have your team members be other online players, nearby players, or CPUs. At the beginning of the match each player will select a stage and one of those stages will be chosen at random. Online Tourney will save your progress if you quit after a match. Winning an Online tourney guarantees you a new random unlockable character. Depending on your score in each match your Online Score will either go up or down filling the Online Score bar will increase you a rank. The ranks are: F, D, C, B, A, S, and Master. All players start out on Rank C. A Nintendo Switch Online Membership is required to play this mode.

Exhibition[]

Exhibition is a one-match mode that can be played Co-op, Local Play, Online Play, or against a CPU. Before a match starts you can select the rules, the court, and your characters. This mode does not have a rank you need to worry about.

Exhibition Bet[]

Exhibition Bet is very similar to Exhibition, but requires an online connection. While selecting the rules you can either choose to do a Coin Bet, a Ball Bet, or a Character Bet. Character Bet and Ball Bet cannot be chosen if you have all characters and balls. You will be randomly pitted against another player. The winner of the match will get the other character's better amount.

Store[]

The Store has many things you can but using coins. There are three sections of the shop: Balls, Cups, and Outfits. In the Ball Shop you can of course by many different Basket Balls. In Cup Shop you can buy new cups which include three new courts. In Outfit Shop you can buy alternate outfits for your characters. All items vary in price.
