Mario + Equestria Girls: Summer Stars is a sports game for the Nintendo Switch. The game places various Mario and My Little Pony Equestria Girls characters against each other in summer games and sports
Many fans hoped that the game was a complete joke, although it was proven real by Hasbro and Nintendo themselves

Characters[]
There are a total of 24 playable characters with one half being from Super Mario, with the other half being from My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, all characters are separated into 4 categories known as types, the four types are Speed, All-Around, Skill, and Power
Speed Types have very high speed, with power and skill around average, and acceleration usually being the lowest
All-Around Types are usually average in every stat, with no advantage nor disadvantages
Skill Types have high skill and normally avarage acceleration with low to average speed and low power
Power Types have high power, and high acceleration, with usually low speed and skill

Trivia[]
- This is the first My Little Pony game on home consoles
- Sonic The Hedgehog was gonna be a third series included, but Sega decided not to partake in this project
- Boo, Rosalina, Dry Bones, Bon Bon, Lyra Heartstrings, and Derpy Hooves were planned to be playable but was scrapped in favor of other characters
- There is only 1 male Equestria Girls character, being Flash Sentry
- There is also only one male skill type character, being Waluigi
- It was planned for Mario and Rainbow Dash to be rivals while Yoshi and Twilight were rivals, they switched rivals in favor of the two main characters to be rivals with each other
