MarioKart, otherwise known a Mario Kart 2017 or New Mario Kart is a 2017 racing-simulation game for the 7Si and the Nintendo NX. It was the first Mario Kart game to be on a non-Nintendo console as well as the first Mario Kart to be released on two consoles. The game follows the same procedures as it's predecessors, with the main objective; to win races and to have fun playing with family. In MarioKart, the some features have been reintroduced. Ultimately, MarioKart is a simplified version of the game, as recently the series has became very cluttered.

Like all the games in the series, MarioKart has introduced 20 retro courses, as well as 20 new ones. 16 characters are included in the starting character roster, with new ones when you complete cups, bringing the total to 26. The game is known to now feature some of the characters from Mario Kart Arcade. Furthermore, the game introduces three new power-ups; mini mushroom, which allows your steering to be easier and for you to go faster, the golden banana, which pulls enemies in and when they touch them they spin out of control and finally the rain cloud, which makes it rain on you, making it extremely slippery driving around.

In MarioKart on the 7Si, expansion packs are allowed, and in most cases, they add new courses, characters and options. On the 7Si you must buy the customization pack if you wish customize your car, as the 7Si version is relatively clutter free.

On the Nintendo NX, the game already features the customization pack. On the NX, unlike the 7Si, expansion packs are only for online sale, whereas the 7Si's are for both online sale and store sale.

In all versions of the game there is the option to make your own courses. This is the new creator feature, adopted from Super Smash Bros. stage builder. The option allows you to change the layout of the track from above and then customize the circuits aesthetics from ground level. In terms of design choice, it is much more advanced then the SSB4 stage builder, as it contains items from most of the courses, as well as more being added with many of the expansion packs.
