The Lunar-Type is one of the introduced Fanon types that appear in various Fanon Pokémon games. The Lunar-Type is a less than common type and draws a parallel to its opposite, the Solar-Type. Of the starter Pokémon, only Fennkin's Line gains the Lunar-Type through evolution. Lunar-Types gain several aspects from the Dark-Type and Ice-Type making them a good special defensive group. The type has several weaknesses although unlike the Ice-Type also have resistances to other types. Lunar-Type is weak to; Solar, Psychic, Fire & Flying Types and is strong against the; Solar, Ground, Water & Ice Types. Solar-Type has a few resistances to defensive types as well, being resistant to: Steel, Fighting & Ground. Lunar-Type Pokemon gain a 10% boost to their Special Defense in Rainy Weather however suffer a 10% decrease to their Speed in Sunny Weather.

General Aesthetics[]
Lunar-Type Pokemon are generally based off of the concept of Night or the Moon as shown by the appearance of Pokemon like Clefairy and Lunatone. A variety of Types are combined with the Lunar Type which while being, Solar-Type's opposite is a much more easier to apply type. Pokemon of this Type often incorporate the Colours White, Pink, Purple or Blue into their colouration. They are also Pokemon who are either known for being Nocturnal, appear commmonly at night or have other relevances to shadows.
