Luigi's Mansion is an action-adventure series with a few light horror elements., in which Luigi explores mansions to capture ghosts using Professor E. Gadd's Poltergust vacuum. According to a French promotional trailer for the first game, it is a parody of the Resident Evil series. It is the only series within the Mario franchise to have all of its games feature Luigi as the main protagonist, instead of Mario.

Luigi's Mansion[]
Luigi's Mansion is a 2001 Nintendo GameCube launch title.
Luigi has won a mansion in a contest he never entered. Planning to meet Mario there that evening, Luigi discovers that the mansion is a haunted illusion. King Boo has released the ghosts that Professor E. Gadd had contained within paintings, and has trapped Mario within a painting of his own. Luigi must use his flashlight and a modified vacuum cleaner, the Poltergust 3000, to stun, reel in, and capture ghosts as he explores the mansion.
The game was remade for Nintendo 3DS in 2018, introducing Gooigi as a playable character in the new multiplayer mode.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, named Luigi's Mansion 2 outside of North America and South Korea, is the sequel to Luigi's Mansion, released in 2013 for Nintendo 3DS.

Luigi's Mansion 3[]
Luigi's Mansion 3 is a Nintendo Switch game released in 2019. Contrary to its title, the game is set in a haunted hotel, rather than a mansion. The game was originally planned as a Wii U title.
