Lucas () is a returning veteran in the game Super Smash Bros. Universe. Unlike his appearance in Brawl, and SSB4, Lucas has gained an updated moveset that is closer to his appearance in Mother 3. In addition, Lucas is now available on the initial starter roster rather than appearing as a Downloadable character.

Moveset
Like the previous titles Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/Nintendo 3DS, Universe features custom movesets, however some of the options are complete changes compared to just modified variations of the standard specials.
Normal Attacks
- Neutral Attack - Kicks with his right leg twice, then does a spinkick with his left. The third kick has slightly more range.
- Dash Attack - Lunges forward, sending forth a burst of PK energy. Does more damage further away.
- Forward tilt - Launches a small burst of PK energy that does more damage further from Lucas.
