Kirby Squeak Squad HD is a remake of Kirby: Squeak Squad for the Wii U, not only is HD, but it also have new levels, treasures and a multiplayer mode. The game introduces a new character named Cinnamon, who is a brown female Kirby who have magical powers which helps Kirby during his journey, Cinnamon is playable using the Wii U Gamepad and a mysterious fourth member of the Squeak Squad named Rhadow that follows Kirby and steals the normal chests, the player have to stun him using Cinnamon's magic in order to make him stop.
Each level now have 2 or 3 more chests to be collected and the levels are larger than the previous games. There's also 4 player co-op and the player can also play online and share the Boss Rush or Extra Mode time records with everyone else.
Cinnamon, a long time Kirby friend, delivers Kirby a cake, when Kirby tires to eat the cake... *vroosh* the cake had been stolen by someone! Who could be? Cinnamon senses a chest with something inside hidden in King Dedede's castle. Could it be?
Kirby defeats King Dedede and finds out that there's no cake inside the chest! They find another chest, but this one is stolen by the Squeak Squad!
Kirby travels over 5 more worlds and defeat Doroach, Doroach drops the chest, but before Kirby could open it, Meta Knight appears and steals the chest again!
Kirby pursuits Meta Knight and defeats him on his ship, Kirby defeats Meta Knight, but then suddenly... the Squeak Squad returned and stole the chest once again! Doroach opens the chest only to reveal the evil... Dark Nebula, who fuses with him!
Kirby manages to defeat Dark Doroach, releasing Dark Nebula from his body, Cinnamon summons the Triple Star and gives to Kirby, Kirby then defeats Dark Nebula and then the world is set on peace. Kirby and Cinnamon returns to the fields and then the Squeak Squad returning giving back the cake, at the end, Kirby happily eats the cake.
Kirby Squeak Squad HD's gameplay is similar to Kirby Squeak Squad. Kirby can inhale enemies, copy abilities, fly and slide. The game's main goal is to find all the chests, to do this, the player must explore the level and find the chests.
- In the introduction cutscene of the original game, the bandit who stole Kirby's cake was actually a Waddle Dee. In the remake, it is Prank.
