Helpers to Heroes
Unlocked after completing the tenth world in Adventure.
The story take place after the Adventure. In the Ripple Star, a ceremony in the castle had taken place in honor the heroes who liberate the fairy people of this star. Kirby and Magolor had shaken their hand, right before a vortex had opened from the ceiling. A familiar yet furious roar is heard right before Exateno's eyes brighten up and then the leader of the Star Horde proceed to single-handedly defeat and capture the eight heroes. He then proceed to capture all of the people of Ripple Star again.
When he returns in the X-Star, he seals the heroes in a huge crystals like how Galacta Knight got sealed away, and after showing an evil grin, proceeds to laugh in a sinister way.
When he announces his victory with his telepathy that he and his army are victorious to the captured planets and Pop Star, the Helpers in the latter star are upset and upon agreement, and led by Knuckle Joe and Bonkers, as well as the help of the abandoned Lor Starcutter, they start to deliver a counterattack to save Kirby and the others, as well as taking on the cruel leader once again.
Upon defeating Omega 02 and reaching the X-Star, Exateno cannot believe his sight, and decide to unleash a last resort; reviving the three Souls and a clone collected from Haltmann Works Company given by Susie, which consist of Drawcia Soul, Marx Soul, Soul of Sectonia and a clone of President Haltmann on his mech. The former two are confused but are glad to be revived, while Soul of Sectonia shakes her head as if she was dreaming but was also surprised to have fangs and star-shaped pupils while still consider herself beautiful, but all look at Exateno and stares with fear. Exateno, however, only tells him that they will give them a real revival under one conditions; get rid of the Helpers and finish off the weakened heroes.
Drawcia Soul and Marx Soul comes first against the Helpers, but Soul of Sectonia told them that she had another plan, much of the two others' confusion. The former two will take on the Helpers, and much of their shock, are defeated again. The Helpers questions about what will Soul of Sectonia will do, but then would rather think about it later and proceed to take on Exateno (Star Exateno this time). At the middle of the road, they have to face Clone Haltmann who is riding his mech, but this time this clone have also part from the Star Dream.
At the final battle, Exateno becomes giant again, although in the middle of the battle, he noticed that Soul of Sectonia have not yet faced the Helpers and calls out of her for not helping him, though Sectonia had actually attached on his back with her new vine-tail to quickly absorb his endless power to becomes more powerful than ever, as well as becoming massive like Exateno, and take control of him.
Although he seems to doesn't mind as he stills want to defeat the Helpers and it makes the people-less planets another purpose; let Soul of Sectonia drain the energy of the captured planets. However, both got defeated, and the latter queen had been sent back to the Ghost Dimension, where the defeated spirits are among to.
After the credits, a vortex that is ahead of Pop Star opened by the defeated Exateno, who decide to let Pop Star getting under the "Menu of the Crazed Souls".
There are multiple differences between the original Adventure and this sub-game as seem on this table.
Giant Exateno had actually two phrases; one that is fought normally like a normal Giant Boss, then another one where you will have to use without anything powerful and use your normal attacks at his weakspot; the orb-like tip of his tail. |
Sub-Games
These are side games of the game. They provide the same gameplay but have different goal.
The Arena
Unlocked after defeating all bosses in Adventure and Kirby Wars.
This sub-game works the same like in the previous Kirby games, but because the game contain even more bosses than even Kirby Super Star Ultra, it only give out fifteen bosses instand of all of them, but the final two are certainly Omega Zero and then Giant Exateno. Other than that, the boss order is random.
The True Arena
Unlocked after completing The Arena and defeating all bosses in Helpers to Heroes, Attack of the Souls and Kirby Wars.
Work like in previous games, but this time you only need to defeat ten bosses because the bosses themselves are more powerful. The final five are Omega Zero Two, Clone Haltmann, Giant Star Exateno, Master Hand and Crazy Hand as bonus bosses and Infinite Exateno, sided with a normal-sized Soul villain (Drawcia Soul, Marx Soul, Magolor Soul or Soul of Sectonia). Like The Arena of this game, the rest of the chosen bosses are fought in a random order.
Unlike the Arenas of certain Kirby games, it have three Maxim Tomatoes, or five when two, three or four players are playing. It also have only a Roulette Ability Stand, that have now a chance to give out a rare Ability.
The Mad Arena
Unlocked after The True Arena is beaten for the first time.
Unlike The Arena and The True Arena, The Mad Arena is rather a literal endurance boss battle which players fight the bosses indefinitely until the players are defeated, and there is no specific order, which means that you could face Exateno Soul as your very first boss to fight. Fortunately, your HP will always be at maximum HP whatever you defeated one.
There is also the Condition Slots, which consist of two to seven slots that determinate and modify the conditions. Most of them are either in favor for the Boss(es) or the player(s) but few of them are hindrance for both (sides). This can be turned off.
Kirby Unity
Available at the start, but the Battles Insane Darkness and Invaders Alart is locked until you beaten all Battles and the Adventure mode. This mode is not considered as part of this game's canon.
Unlike the other sub-games, the objective is simple but vital; gather as many enemies and mid-bosses to serve you as your minions as possible to take on returning Final Bosses from past games except of Drawcia Soul, Marx Soul, Magolor Soul and Soul of Sectonia which are only faced in Attack of the Souls. The players can use any characters of Adventure Mode.
The minions will get up as long as they are just defeated by neutral and enemy minions, until the player(s) get defeated. In geenral, the Battle is won if the Boss is defeated, no matter how many enemies are left, unless if there is other type of objective to complete. There are even two enemy camps who will attack each others.
The final bosses of them is Omega Zero and Nightmare for Insane Darkness and Giant Exateno and Galacta Knight for Invaders Alart.

Attack of the Souls
Unlocked after completing either Helpers to Heroes or Kirby Wars's final Battle "Invaders Alart".
This takes place after Kirby Unity. It involved Magolor getting possessed by the Controller Crown (which resembles of the Master Crown, but whiter and have more gems), created by the Star Horde, and becomes Magolor Soul which Kirby and others must stop him, then after that Magolor turned back to normal, not remembered what happened to him.
This is the true final "world", as Exateno send a last resort by sneakily makes the defeated Drawcia, Marx and Queen Sectonia into their Soul counterpart, albeit giant sized this time. This game mixes the staples of Adventure and Helpers to Heroes; the player(s) can use any characters from these modes without restriction.
However, it is actually serves as the final test as the player must now face, in the order, a clone of Magolor Soul, then the somehow giant-sized Drawcia Soul, Marx Soul and Soul of Sectonia (the latter one controlled this time). While the levels are short, the Bosses have more varied attacks that rivalize the final bosses of this game (not those who are bosses in Kirby Unity). Ironically, Magolor Soul is easier compared to Kirby's Returns to Dream Land in the first battle, but a giant impostor of it appear to support Exateno.
The definite final level have the latter three Souls and a giant clone of Magolor Soul teaming up with Giant Exateno himself to finish off the heroes, which all have grown up thanks to the Exa-Energy, not just Kirby. You will face two Giant Soul Bosses at the same time but in return, you will always have a Helper with you, which can make a total of eight heroes when there is four players. All of you are also Giant to make it as a last resort.
