Kirby: Event Horizon is an upcoming Kirby game for the Wii U. It is to be released on 2017.
The game introduces a fully three-dimensional plane for areas for the first time, while past Kirby games were always sidescrolling platformers. As in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby Triple Deluxe, the game also features a special, strong ability that is often required to be used to progress in the game, known as Void.
The game takes place on a three-dimensional plane, which has not been seen in a Kirby game before. The concept is partially inspired by the cancelled Kirby GCN.
The game's worlds feature structures similar to the world in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror; there the area is a large stage consisting of a large amount of rooms connected by many doors. Unlike Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, however, the game does feature seperate levels.
Another feature is the inclusion of 4 player characters as in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, taking the same 4 characters. Instead of being limited to only Kirby in single player mode, the player may now choose any of the 4 characters before starting a level.
Four playable characters are featured in Kirby: Event Horizon, being the same four that were playable in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land. However, in this game, the player may choose any of the four to play as instead of being forced to play as Kirby for player 1, etc. Every character has their own strengths and weaknesses, and some of these may be required to reach special locations or treasures.
Kirby can inhale enemies to get a Copy Ability based on their powers. He can also fly without limit.
Meta Knight shares most of his move with the Sword ability, although he is slightly faster. His jump is not as high as Kirby's, however. He can fly without limit as well. Other moves include sliding on the floor, which also deals damage to enemies.
King Dedede shares most of his moves with the Hammer ability. He can also inhale enemies, although it won't grant him their powers. He can jump without limit.
Waddle Dee's moves are mostly the same as that of the Spear ability. Unlike the others, he can only jump twice; however, he can twirl his spear around to fly, even for a longer time than the Spear ability is able to do so.
The game features three new Copy Abilities, being Bone, Thunder, and Scissors.
Will give Kirby the ability to throw bones in any direction, and summon sand to perform many different attacks. He can also use a giant bone as a club.
Will turn Kirby into an electrified version of himself, he can summon thunderclouds to ride on and attack enemies with lightning bolts from above.
Kirby will obtain a giant pair of scissors to attack with, which he can cut ropes with. He can also use it for ranged attacks, and point it in many different directions.
Void Kirby is a major, new, special ability that Kirby can use occasionally throughout the game. It is similar to Hypernova, Robobot Armour, or the Super Abilities, in that it provides Kirby of a great strength that he needs to use to progress through certain parts in specific stages. The Void ability can collide with regular enemies and absorb their abilities, which will give Void Kirby new mixed abilities.
In its default form, Void will simply be able to deal a large amount of damage to enemies, and Kirby's inhaling power is increased.
A combination of Fire and Void, Bolide will give Kirby tremendous Fire powers. Being in this form will melt any ice, and will weaken enemies by getting nearby.
A combination of Ice and Void, Absolute Zero will make any lava or water solidify instantly, enabling Kirby to walk over them. He can use several attacks to ‘dig’ through, as well.
A combination of Spark and Void, Kirby will be able to illuminate any room and activate any machines by simply attacking them with his plasma attacks.
A combination of Water and Void, it will douse any fire and make any flower grow once attacked.
A combination of Beam and Void, Kirby will be able to send fast and large beams forward, which will have a large destructive value.
A combination of Mike and Void, Kirby will emit one destructive blast. It can be used only once, and when it is used, Kirby is required to absorb another Walky to gain the ability again.
This ability will give Kirby a sword, which he can use to perform many slicing and stabbing moves. It can also slice ropes.
Cutter will give Kirby boomerangs which he can throw. He can also use them as blades, or charge them for a stronger attack. It can slice ropes.
Beam will give Kirby a staff which is able to produce beams and orbs of energy. He can shoot a simple beam, or shoot orbs as an aerial attack.
Kirby will wield a parasol. It protects him from weak attacks from above, and he can also use it to attack enemies. If Kirby holds out the parasol while falling, he will fall much slower than usual.
Bomb will give Kirby the ability to throw bombs. He can throw them, roll them, or set them in place.
Kirby can shoot fire from his mouth, which can burn enemies or melt icy obstacles. He can also hurl himself forward, covered in fire.
Gives Kirby the ability to spew ice from his mouth, which will freeze weak enemies immediately. Kirby can push the frozen enemies into other enemies to damage them.
With Spark, Kirby can create an electric field around himself, which hurts enemies on contact. By walking around, Kirby also charges up static energy, which he can shoot forward afterward.
Kirby can create many small mirrors to attack enemies, and can even duplicate himself by using mirrors to attack enemies from two sides.
This Copy Ability gives Kirby the ability to jump large distances, launching himself up or forward, damaging enemies he collides with.
This Copy Ability will give Kirby the ability to summon waves of water to attack enemies. Kirby can douse fires, and he can even run over water.
Will give Kirby two hand bells, which he can use to hit enemies, or he can throw them at them. If Kirby guards while using this ability, he will sustain no damage at all.
Kirby can turn into a stone, dropping down on enemies. If used on a slope, Kirby will roll down. Kirby can choose several directions to jump into before turning to stone, as well.
Kirby gets angel wings which makes his flying much more accurate. He also obtains a bow and arrows, which he can fire in different ways.
Gives Kirby the ability to perform strong jabs, kicks, uppercuts, and other similar moves.
Suplex will give Kirby the ability to throw, grab, and attack enemies in many different ways. It combines Throw, Backdrop, and Suplex from previous titles.
This ability will give Kirby a spear, which he can use to stab in many different directions. He can also throw it and even temporarily fly with it, which also deals damage to enemies above.
Will give Kirby a bow and arrows, which he can use to hit enemies from far away. He can also hide behind wooden cutouts of grass, which will make enemies not notice him.
Will give Kirby a large Drill which he can throw, launch himself forward with, or drill down to the ground.
Using this Copy Ability will turn Kirby into a wheel, which will roll across the stage at high speed.
Kirby will get a large stag beetle horn, which he can use to attack enemies with. Kirby will not inflate to fly, but uses the wings of his beetle headgear.
Gives Kirby a large hammer, which he can use to hit enemies. He can use it to simply stomp them, but he can also spin it around him and even charge it up for an even stronger attack.
Kirby can summon many leaves to spin around himself, which will damage enemies. He can also summon tall shrubs from the ground or throw vines.
Kirby gets the ability to shoot quick, small laser beams. The will richochet off slopes as well. Kirby can charge the attack and fire it in many different ways.
Will give Kirby the ability to throw poisonous blobs, or leave a poisonous trail that will hurt enemies. He can also shoot a large beam of poison from his hat.
Will transform Kirby into a small U.F.O., which can shoot different sorts of beams depending on how much the attack is charged. He can also fly much more easily.
After using this ability, all enemies on-screen will be defeated if not a mid-boss or boss. It also halves the health of any other enemy in the room. It disappears after one use.
Mike will defeat all enemies on-screen when used (although unlike Crash, will not affect enemies off-screen). It can be used three times before disappearing.
It will make Kirby fall asleep, leaving him vulnerable to damage from enemies. If the player can press A with just the right timing when waking up, Kirby will deal a large amount of damage to a nearby enemy.
Parasol Waddle Dee
Poppy Bros Jr
Poppy Bros Sr
Poppy Bros Sr will attempt to throw bombs at Kirby from afar. He generally simply jumps around while throwing bombs, which can be inhaled to spit back at him.
Phan Phan will run around on the floor and try to catch Kirby with its trunk. If it succeeds, it will throw Kirby around the room.
Bonkers will jump and walk around attacking Kirby with his hammer. He will also throw explosive walnuts, which Kirby can eat to shoot back at him.
Kracko Jr will fly around, trying to attack Kirby from above by using moves such as thunderbolts and heavy rainfall. In this game, Kracko Jr appears to be a different Kracko than the regular Kracko, who acts as a normal boss.
Mr. Frosty will throw ice blocks at Kirby. He can also, oddly, float around the stage and sprinkle icicles around himself.
Hornhead will fly around the stage in zigzag patterns. If he hits Kirby with his horn, he will pick him up and throw him away.
Skull-a-ton will try to jump away from Kirby when he gets nearby. He tries to attack from afar by throwing bones at him.
