Kirby's Ultimate Avalanche is a downloadable game for the 3DS system. It is a sequel to Kirby's Avalanche, which itself is a modification of Super Poyo Poyo. As such the game has new modes and challenges as well as new enemies to set itself apart from Super Poyo Poyo. It is released in the U.S., Europe, and PAL, but not in Japan. It was released in March 2012.
"In the game, as in all Puyo games, groups of two colored blobs fall from the top of the screen. The player must rotate and move the groups before they touch the bottom of the screen or the pile, so that matching-colored blobs touch from above, below, the left or the right. Once three or more same-colored blobs touch, they will disappear, and any blobs above them will fall down to fill in the space. If a player manages to set off a chain reaction with these blobs, boulders will fall on the other player's screen. The number of boulders that falls depends on both the number of blobs popped and the number of consecutive chain reactions. These boulders will only disappear if a player manages to pop a group of blobs that are in direct contact with the boulders.
Notably, in the cinematics between each round, Kirby and the other characters are shown trash-talking opponents in full sentences. This differs greatly from other Kirby games, where Kirby and cast hardly speak at all."

Kirby is the only playable character in story mode. He isn't cocky this time, but he's ready for competition once again. He can easily outsmart his opponents. In gameplay he can use his inhale power/current ability.
Meta Knight is playable - in multiplayer, alongside Dedede and Waddle Dee. In gameplay he can slash his sword and break the stones. He is a tough opponent in Story Mode, being one of the elites.
King Dedede is in the field! He can use his hammer and break columns of stones. He is the final opponent of Medium Mode, and truely makes a challenging opponent.
Bandana Waddle Dee
He's back in action! He is actually IN the field, and rather than controlling stones, you control him. He can pick up stones and toss them at each other in a quick manner. He is in easy mode, but plays like the others. He can use his sword for his attack.
Each stage has ten opponents.
The opponents in easy mode are basic enemies.
Cookie Country Opponents
Poppy Bros. Jr
Raisin Ruins Opponents
Bandana Waddle Dee
The first ten opponents in medium mode start out as basic enemies, the later 15 are mid-bosses, and the final 5 are bosses.
