King K. Rool (キングクルール, Kingu Kurūru) appears as a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. V , revealed at the start of the Smash Bros. Direct on March 6, 2019.

“King K. Rool is the main antagonist of the Donkey Kong series. He is the malevolent ruler of the Kremling race, the head of the Kremling Krew, and the arch-nemesis of Donkey Kong. K. Rool has repeatedly tried to steal Donkey Kong's Banana Hoard for reasons that aren't fully understood. To reach his goal, he has even gone as far as kidnapping members of the Kong Family on various occasions just to get his way.”

He is confirmed to have no alternate costume. He is voiced by Ben Campbell and Toshihide Tsuchiya in Japanese.

<p dir="ltr" style="margin-top:4pt;margin-bottom:6pt;line-height:1.7999999999999998;">King K. Rool is what you would call a trickster mixed with a heavy powerful grappler.  He’s the heaviest character in the game, his specials are very, very tricky and he has strong moves and grabs.  A few of his more power moves have super armor. He’s the heaviest character in the game. You won’t really have trouble KOing with King K. Rool as he has tons of KO options, from his powerful stage spiking down air to his almost guaranteed specials you really shouldn’t have trouble KOing. Another thing to note is that his shield is pretty durable and runs down pretty slow.

<p dir="ltr" style="margin-top:4pt;margin-bottom:6pt;line-height:1.7999999999999998;">King K. Rool being the largest character in the game size wise has a very large hitbox. Some of his key moves do indeed have lag on them and he doesn’t really have much combo options except down throw to up air (of course) at lower to medium percents. His Cannonball specials can be used against him and they really hurt.

<p dir="ltr" style="margin-top:4pt;margin-bottom:6pt;line-height:1.7999999999999998;">King K. Rool has a special ability known as Last Stand. It activates when he reaches 140% and he receives a nice speed boost (in the air, move execution, and on ground). The downside to this is that any move that does 12% or more automatically KO him. This may not really be a problem with the weaker characters but still, it’s a pretty big trade off that could limit his lifetime.

Forward Tilt Crown Boomerang 8% (near), 6% (middle), 5% (far), 3% (return) King K. Rool throws his crown which does damage going forward and coming back to him.
Up Tilt 9% King K. Rool slashes claw in an arc.
Down Tilt 10% King K. Rool swipes downwards. Always trips but comes out slow.
Forward Smash 16% King K. Rool slams his belly forward. Super armor.
Up Smash Falling Cannonballs 14% (each) King K. Rool lets down a falling cannonball in front that deals massive damage, knockback and takes a lot of shield. Depending on the charge, up to 3 can fall in a straight line in front of him.
Down Smash 15% King K. Rool shoots a mini cannon ball downwards.

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Special Cannon Blunderbuss 10% King K. Rool shoots out a cannon ball from his Blunderbuss which does damage and can stick to ground and be knocked about. Can be reflected. The distance depends on the charge time.
Alternate 1 Mist Blunderbuss Must be fully charged. When fully charged King. K Rool shoots a mist at the opponent that trips them up and keeps them down for a SET amount of time. The charging must be done in one go and it isn’t the fastest charge ever. If the mist is spot doged, K. Rool is left very vulnerable as he is still spreading the mist.
Alternate 2 Spike Blunderbuss 12% King K. Rool shoots out a spiky cannon ball from his Blunderbuss which does slightly more damage. Can only be knocked about/back with a smash attack. The distance depends on the charge time. Much slower than the regular cannon ball.
Side Special Red Cloud King K. Rool, using the Blunderbuss, shoots out a red cloud that hovers above ground for a good period of time. Anyone (assist trophies and Pokemon counted) that touches it receives slow movement for a short period of time. Whenever the cloud is hit, it automatically disappears. Can be reflected.
Alternate 1 Blue Cloud King K. Rool, using the Blunderbuss, shoots out a blue cloud that hovers above ground for a good period of time. Anyone (assist trophies and Pokemon counted) that touches it is frozen in place for a good amount of time. Whenever the cloud is hit, it automatically disappears.
Alternate 2 Purple Cloud King K. Rool, using the Blunderbuss, shoots out a purple cloud that hovers above ground for a good period of time. Anyone (assist trophies and Pokemon counted) that touches it receives inverted movement for a short period of time. Whenever the cloud is hit, it automatically disappears.
Up Special Copter Pack 2% (each hit from blades), 13% (explosion) A small copter pops up from Chibi's head and twirls fast, propelling Chibi upwards in a small distance. Anyone who touches the copter will be hit multiple times. It provides small vertical and horizontal recovery
Alternate 1 Zap Copter Pack 2% (each hit from blades), 13% (explosion), 10% (zap) King K. Rool flies in a controlled route using his copter pack. If the copter pack is hit by anything it explodes leaving King K. Rool in a free fall.
Alternate 2 Self-Destruct Copter Pack 2% (each hit from blades), 19% (explosion) This variant of the Copter Pack can explode on it’s own dealing massive damage and knockback, at the cost of speed.
Down Special Pit Fall King K. Rool pokes a small hole in the ground. Anyone that steps on the hole opens it up and gets grounded for a good amount of time.
Alternate 1 Play Dead 1.8x Works somewhat like a counter. When inputted as an attack is coming King K. Rool plays dead and the attacker is sent into a confused animation, then King K. Rool gets up with a powerful attack that can KO the opponent pretty early. The knockback and damage is decreased the more its used during the stock.
Alternate 2 Invisibility Cloak King K. Rool activates an invisibility cloak using his gem. During the invisible state, he can move about freely attacking, but it only goes for about 10 seconds and you can identify where he is when he’s running as he leaves ground impact effects. The more it is used in the stock the less effective it becomes and the invisibility time decreases by 2 seconds each time its till it stops at 4 seconds invisibie only.
Final Smash Chamber Blast 59% (total) King K. Rool grabs everyone in front of him and places them all in one of his chambers. Sitting in his evil chair, he presses a series of buttons that shock, burn, freeze, and explode the room, all while he is grinning and laughing at this wonderful sight. At the end, the chamber explodes with those place in it.

Depending on which direction the player moves, KKR throws the remote in the opposite direction, and the flying remote functions just like Snake's box, being able to hit someone.
