This subpage is a list of canon and fanon peripherals for the Nintendo Switch.

Canon[]

Controllers[]

  • The main controller consists of two sides (called Joy-Cons) and a tablet screen in the middle. Each Joy-Con can be used as its own controller, or in the style of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck -- one in each hand. The Joy-Cons can be connected to the screen to form a controller similar to the Wii U GamePad, or plugged into a Joy-Con Grip while the screen is placed into a dock for TV play.
  • The Pro Controller allows a more traditional gameplay experience, and it works like the Wii U controller of the same name.

Fanon[]

Nintendo Switch U[]

An external disc drive which gives the Nintendo Switch the ability to play games from the GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, DSi, 3DS, and new 3DS, as well as various of their accessories.

Nintendo Switch Advantage[]

It's back, it's black, and it's itching for a fight! The NS Advantage looks and works like its NES and SNES predecessors, but it also includes HD Rumble and motion controls...if you like that sort of thing.

Joy-Con Lite[]

The Joy-Con Lite is a less-expensive, longer-lasting model of the Joy-Con that does not have the HD Rumble or IR Motion Camera features.

Lone Planet Productions[]

Balance Pad[]

The Balance Pad is a circular platform divided into four quadrants. Players stand on the rectangle in the middle, and when they lean towards a certain quadrant, it is pressed down. The quadrants are pressure-sensitive, which allows you to focus your weight on a certain direction. For example, if someone were to play a game where they ride a bicycle, they can push down on a quadrant to move in that direction.

To activate the Balance Pad, you need to slide the tablet portion of the console into the safety vault located at the side.

Super Zapper[]

Sliding a Joy-Con into the Super Zapper slot allows a player to use motion controls to gun down enemies in shooting games. The peripheral can be customized with a wide variety of scopes, handles, etc. for a controller that suits the player best.

Zen Studios[]

Zen NES Controller[]

As the name would imply, the Zen NES Controller is a controller that resembles the original NES controller plus extra buttons. It comes in "Classic", shiny black colors and Joy-Con colors.
