James McCloud (ジェームズ・マクラウド, Jēmuzu Makuraudo) was the founder and leader of legendary commando-mercenary group Star Fox and the father of Fox McCloud.

Biography

Before creating Star Fox, James was a member of the Cornerian Army, alongside his best friends Peppy Hare and Pepper. He was an ace pilot and a combat specialist who was revered throughout the Lylat System. When sent on a scouting mission to Venom, along with the other Star Fox members (Peppy Hare and Pigma Dengar), Pigma betrays the Star Fox team and leads them into an ambush. Peppy narrowly escapes; however, James's fate is currently unknown (presumed dead).

Physical Appearance

James wears a white jacket, green shirt, green pants, and dons a red scarf, similarly to his son. However, despite his son's similar appearance, James is always seen wearing sunglasses.

Star Fox Legacy

The history of James McCloud and the first Star Fox team is revealed more in-depth in the prequel to the Star Fox series, Star Fox Legacy. Under the command of General Pepper, the original Star Fox team eliminated potential threats to the Lylat System. Eventually, the squad turned their sights to Venom, a planet ruled by the Corneria-banished Andross.

• McCloud has an F-Zero counterpart, who runs a team called Galaxy Dog, a spoof of Star Fox and uses an Arwing-esque machine called the Little Wyvern.
