HyruleVille is a spinoff of the Legend of Zelda, being published by Nintendo and famed Facebook game creator Zynga, and developed by Gamey Games Inc. creators of Xbox Superstars Ultimate Smash. The game was released for the Nintendo 3DS on August 8, 2012 in North America, August 4 in the PAL regions, and will be released on August 20 in Japan and Australia.


Development[]

Short after the release of the latest title in the series (Skyward Sword) Shigeru Miyamoto stated that it would not always be the first game in the series timeline, allowing for later titles to occur earlier. In January 2012, nintendo stated that they are working on a Zelda Spinoff for 3DS, and stated that it is a different game than the previously announced 3DS Zelda game. On April 2, 2012, the game was revealed at a conference and it was stated that the game ha been in developement since the 3DS idea came along (around 2009).


Gameplay[]

The Gameplay is obviously similar to CityVille, FarmVille, and FrontierVille. The player builds structures to build their perfect Hyrule, (like previous Zelda titles) you will play as Link. The player can talk to other players using Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. the player can also roam around Hyrule in a similar manner to previous Zelda titles.

Reception[]

HyruleVille has received extremely positive reception from critics and fans alike. Many reviewers praised the Graphics, Gameplay, and use of the 3D effect. IGN gave the game a 9.5 out of 10 and an Editor's Choice Award, stating "Not only does HyruleVille capture the CityVille/Civilization charm, but it brings the Zelda name into the gameplay perfectly". EDGE gave the game a 9/10. The lowest scores came from GameSpot and GameInformer who gave the game an 7/10 and 8.5/10 respectfully. Nintendo Power gave the game a 9/10.
