Evolves From | Golett, at Level 43 |
Golurk is a Ground/Ghost Pokémon introduced in Generation 5. It's the evolved form of Golett.
Basic info[]
Golurk is based off of a golem, particularly the one seen in the Jewish folktale The Golem of Prague. This is likely where it gets its Ghost typing from, as well as the giant bandage that sits on its chest, covering a bigger crack. If that bandage is ripped off, it loses control of itself and goes on a mindless rampage. It's unclear why it's listed as green in the Pokédex when it appears blue. It may also contain elements of animé mecha, as it's able to learn Fly despite not being Flying-type.
Golurk is a genderless species...a fact that the designers of PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond missed, as they identified it as male in the PokéPad.

All canon Pokémon are available in Tropes vs. Women in Pokémon Training, including Golurk, who gets a Gigantamax form in this game. Its special move is G-Max Grave Rise, where it unleashes a bunch of ghosts that were apparently trapped in its body to inflict massive damage; those ghosts stay on the battlefield and inflict 25% HP damage on all opponents for every turn it's G-Maxed plus five turns after.

When the bandage on Golurk's body is ripped off, the approximately 1,000 ghosts that were trapped inside it are unleashed, inflicting unspeakable terrors on friend and foe alike.
