Golden Sun is a 2011 anime series based on the Golden Sun series. The series premiered in Japan on August 1, 2011 and in North America on November 11, 2011, exactly 10 years after the release of the first Golden Sun game.

Series One

Series One follows the storyline of the first Golden Sun game.

Series Two

Series Two follows the storyline of Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

Series Three

Series Three follows the storyline of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. This series takes place 30 years after Series Two.

Shorts

In every episode of Series One and some episodes of Series Two, two small shorts will play in the end of the first half and the beginning of the second half of an episode. Unlike the rest of the series, these shorts are usually light hearted and comedic. The shorts are extremely short, lasting for about 30 seconds or less. Most of the shorts are based on the 4-Koma Gag Battle strips. Series Three does not feature any shorts.

Films

All three series of the Golden Sun anime have a 40 minute film that were released at the end of each series in Japan. In North America, all three films were put together into one feature film released as Golden Sun: The Movie.

Golden Sun: The Power of Alchemy

The Japanese film of Series Two and the second part of Golden Sun: The Movie.

Golden Sun: The Movie

An American feature film that is a compilation of all three Japanese Golden Sun films. Compared to the original versions, the are some minor edits to the film. The film was released in 2014. The film was rated PG-13.
