The Franklin Badge is an item from the Earthbound/Mother series. In its debut appearance, it was used by Ninten to bounce back the otherwise-lethal PK Beam Gamma back at attackers. In Earthbound and Mother 3, however, it bounces back any electrical-based attack.
It also appears in the Smash Bros. games, starting with Brawl. Here, it bounces back any projectile, regardless of element.
