Flitten, known in Japan as ヒバネコ (Hibaneko), is a Fire-type Pokémon. It evolves into Flynx at level 16, which evolves into Magris at level 36.

Along with Snaileaf and Surchin, it is one of the starter Pokémon in the Flevore Region, at the beginning of Pokémon Citrine and Olivine Versions.

Flitten resembles an orange, domestic cat with golden yellow chest fur. The back of its ears have yellow, flame-like markings, as does his light yellow paws. Its neck is surrounded by a mane-like fluff, resembling fire. Its fluffy tail resembles a flare of fire as well. The part where the tail starts is marked with a gold, plate-like ring.

Its face has two whiskers on each side, oval shaped pink nose and emerald-colored bead eyes.

Gender differences

Special abilities

Its tail and mane can act like fire when a Flitten is angered. Their temperature will increase and will move like flames.

It can heat its tail on its own when not angered as well, which can be used to melt down snow in cold regions, and set uncovered wood on fire that got damped due to the snow.

It looks cute, but it can get agitated when harmed unfairly. When it does get angry, its mane-like fluff and tail will spark like actual fire, while the temperature of both parts will increase to fire's heat. When the back of a Flitten gets stroked, it will calm down and gets as cute as before.

Flitten can be found at plains, but also geyser-like areas. It is also implied that it may live in cold regions as well, since it is able to survive it.

Flitten is based on a house cat. Its mane is inspired from male lions.

Name Origin

Flitten's name is based on flame or flare and kitten.
