Storyline[]

Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad are headed in the Mario Van towards the other side of the Mushroom Kingdom, where Princess Daisy rules. They get out to see Daisy's Palace, where Daisy greets them. Also Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, and more Toads are in the backround. They all celebrate until the sky darkens, and a villain emerges! Mario steps up, prepared to fight Bowser, but it is no such villan! It is a Magikoopa with a funny outfit! He dances as he emerges from the sky. The villain's name is Kormek, and he now rules Kamek and Kamellia! He traps Princess Daisy in a magic cage, and flies off with her. Then Luigi panics and grabs Mario's hand, and Wario and Waluigi follow them. Peach and Toad look at each other, worried what will happen next.

Bosses[]

Image Boss Level Description
SM3DL Boom Boom Solo Art Boom Boom World 1-4 Boom Boom acts just as he does in 3D Land as he does in SDMBU. The first time he is incountered he starts by swinging his arms around in the room, and then gets tired so Mario (or others) can stomp on him. They must do this 3 times, then Boom Boom is defeated.
MPWii U Goomboss Goomboss World 1-8 Goomboss is the boss of Daisy Hills's Castle. He starts off by just running at Mario, then finishes off with a hard ground pound. This knocks off his crown, so Mario can stomp on him. Then after one hit, he starts jumping lightly, then doing the ground pound. And in his final form he does nothing but jumping. Three ground pounds should finish him off.
PunpunSolo Pom Pom World 2-4 Boom Boom's partner Pom Pom also appears many times in the game, but first she appears in Fishy Lake's Tower. She starts off by throwing her boomerangs and then jumping off to another place, but when Mario stomps on her head she goes into her shell and tries to pound him from above. Mario has to stomp on her three times, just like Boom Boom.
Captain King K. Rool King K. Rool World 2-8 King K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country is the boss of Fishy Lake's Airship. The first time encountered he is in "captain form", having a pirate's hat, coat, and a Bullet Bill Blaster. He will start off by shooting three Bullet Bills in streight lines, and when Mario gets near he will try to punch him. Then after one hit, he will be able to stomp the ground. In his final form he can shoot 6 Bullet Bills, and like most bosses three hits defeats him.
Boom Boom World 3-4 Boom Boom's 2nd encounter is in Night Fall's Tower. This time there are two platforms, with two conveyer belts going in opposite directions. Boom Boom will do the same as before but this time there is a pipe for only him to go through at the bottom, for when he falls off the conveyer belts.
Koopa Mech Koopa Mech World 3-8 The Koopa Mech is the boss of Night Fall's Battleship, and it is patrolled by Bowser Jr, who is under a spell cast by Kormek. The fight takes place in the Battleship, underwater, where the Mech charges at Mario and shoots Banzai Bills from it's mouth. Every minute Bowser Jr. will come in and throw down three bombs, and Mario has to make the Koopa Mech get under one so it can explode on it, making it tumble down and expose it's weak spot, it's belly. Again, this boss takes three hits.
Pom Pom World 4-4 Pom Pom's 2nd battle is in Cloudy Skies's Tower. It almost the same as before exept this time there are three platforms moving up and down, and bursts of fire on the ground (but also bottomless pits). It is a bit harder as Mario has to constantly leap between platforms, but not too hard.
Lakitu King Lakitu King World 4-8 The Lakitu King (or Giga Lakitu)'s battle is in Cloudy Skies's Castle. He acts like he did in Super Mario Galaxy, but also a little bit like Lakithunder from NSMB. At first he will throw Spinies from above, but then he will pound on his cloud and come down, having Mario be able to stomp on him. After one hit he will start making lightning bolts in between these attacks, and again, three hits will finish him.
Boom Boom World 5-4 Boom Boom's 3rd encounter is in High Cliff's Tower. It is his last battle solo. This time he has the same attacks, but the platforms on the ground have spikes shooting in and out of the floor. There are also floating platforms, but they have temporary spikes too. While the middle platform has spikes, the two floating platforms (on left and right) have them, and while the left and right bottom platforms has spikes, the middle floating one has them!
Scientest King K. Rool King K. Rool World 5-8 King K. Rool is again the boss of the Airship, this time High Cliffs's Airship. Instead of a pirate he is a scientest, with a propellor backpack. He throws Bob-Ombs at Mario and co. instead of Bullet Bills, and they can only stomp on him when he swoops down. He can again ground pound with his fists, and he again takes three hits.
Pom Pom World 6-4 Pom Pom's 3rd and final solo encounter is in Moist Islands's Tower. This time the only platforms are Donut Lifts, exept for two small ones that Pom Pom can leap onto. Though the Donut Lifts respawn it is still hard to do, since Mario needs to keep on moving especially while Pom Pom is in her shell.
Fisheetron World 6-8 Fisheetron is a giant robotic Fishee, and the boss of Moist Islands's Battleship. The boss battle is again underwater, and Fisheetron attacks Mario with electric amps. The robot can move back and forth, and it's weakside is it's other side, as it is mostly flat. In one attack it exposes it's weakside by flopping up and down, and by one/two hits it starts attacking with more amp charges. Along with almost all the bosses, it takes three hits. Unlike the Koopa Mech Bowser Jr. does not make an appearence.
Boom Boom and Pom Pom World 7-4 Boom Boom and Pom Pom both share a battle in Deep Woods's Tower, both having a wide floating platform that takes up half of the screen. They both have their normal attacks, but stay on their platforms while in their shells. Once one is defeated the other one needs to be, and then the boss battle is finished. The battle is similar to the shared battle in 3D Land.
DK Strong Donkey Kong World 7-8 Donkey Kong is the boss of Deep Woods's in SDMBU, and his battle is entirely based on the game where Mario first appeared (back then as Jumpman), Donkey Kong. It is, like in Donkey Kong, on a series of platforms with ladders and DK at the top, throwing barrels that go down the platforms. When Mario gets to the top he has to stomp on Donkey Kong's head, and then Mario is sent back down to the bottom to do it again three times. After one hit DK is capable of throwing flaming barrels, which are more dangerous as well as faster than normal barrels.
