Production[]
TalixArts started its TalixArts Jr. studio early 2012 and officially came online in January 5, 2013. During 2012, TalixArts contracted a deal with SEGA to produce a film version of Sonic the Hedgehog based on the video game series. As soon as the deal was made, the distribution rights was sold to DreamWorks Pictures. DreamWorks chose Andrew Adamson, director of Shrek and Shrek 2, to helm this film. Talix will executive produce.
Early drafts had Robotnik/Eggman out as the main antagonist, but Talix mentioned "You can't have a Sonic film without the madman. You just can't." Eventually, Robotnik will be the film's main antagonist. Other redrafts had several main characters killed off, but due to many redrafts, most of them were kept throughout the entirety of the film, except for some few characters. Adamson mentioned, "Sonic's background as well as Tails', Knuckles', and others will be explored such in that Talix did a great job in making the reinterpretation very interesting. But stay true to the characters."
Music[]
Alan Silvestri will compose the film score and promise to use some of the scores from the video games and give them "an modern upgrade" he mentioned. The score soundtrack will be release May 20 alongside the, "Sonic the Hedgehog - The Movie Album" version.
