Sonic Legends (known as Sonic the Dark Energy in Japan) Sonic Legends is the eighteeth game in the Sonic the Hedgehog Series Franchise. The game was made by SEGA and Dimps.  It followed Sonic Lost World from the previous year and has a gameplay style simiular to Lost World and Generations. Character artwork is very simular to Sonic Colors, Lost World,and Generations. It was released Fall 2014. The game features new items,levels,characters, and more. It was announnced E3 2014 by Yugi Naka. It is followed bySonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode lll. It is set to release in the Nintendo eShop in January 2015.

It has a rumored sequel which also has rumored names- Sonic Chaos Legends, Sonic Legends 2: The Return of Chaos, Sonic Legends Time Eater's Revenge,and Sonic Legends Time Trial.

Story 

Console Story

The story starts off with the Blue Blur running in an open field. When all of a sudden a strange beam of energy passes Sonic . It feels like Chaos Control to him, but different. Sonic follows the beam until it hits the green Chaos Emerald. All of a sudden it turns into "Shadow" in Green Armor. Sonic asks Shadow whats happening and "Shadow" replies that he is not Shadow. Sonic asks who is he and he anwsers "I am a Chaos Emerald Warrior, my destiny is to protect the green Chaos Emerald. But evil has awoken me and I must keep my emerald save." Sonic's jaw drops in amazement but then a dark energy ball takes the Chaos Emerald Warrior(Green Chaos). Sonic chases after hoping to save the Warrior. After zooming through Green Fields, Sonic finds Metal Sonic who demands a race. After Sonic wins the race Metal Sonic flies away. Sonic then sees Shadow who is getting attack by a dark monster. Sonic attacks the monster. After a battle it turns into the dark ball and flies off releasing Green Chaos and his emerald. Shadow tells Sonic that a lot of his friends are captured by the dark monster and that they need to save them.

Sonic the Hedgehog	Sonic's gameplay is much like his in Generations and Lost World. Abilites: Run Walk Moving-Up,Down,Left,Right,ect. Jump Wall Jump Spin Dash Spin Attack Homing Atack Kick Back Flip Grinding Stomp Attack Sonic Wind Sonic Boom	Sonic the Hedgehog is the fastest thing alive. He returns to Sonic Legends as the main protagonist. His abilites are like his abilites in past games. He comes to save the world from a strange dark energy thats out for the Chaos Emeralds.
Tails the Fox	Tails' gameplay is very simular to his gameplay in Sonic Adventure and has a little spice from Sonic Battle. Abilites: Run Walk Moving-Up,Down,Left,Right,ect. Jump Wall Jump Spin Dash Spin Attack Homing Attack Flying Kick Energy Cannon Blast Tail Swipe Tails Tornado Adrenaline Rush	Tails the Fox is back to be Sonic's little buddy and super cool sidekick. He wants to help Sonic and the others to save the world from the evil dark energy. He's a nice supporting character and likes using his inventions to help others.
Knuckles the Echidna	Knuckles gameplay is very simular to his Sonic Adventure and also Sonic and Knuckles. Abilites: Run Walk Moving-Up,Down,Left,Right,ect. Gliding Punching Kicking Spin Dash Spin Attack Knuckle Stomp Homing Attack Thunder Arrow Climbing Wall Jump Knuckle Slam	Knuckles is the guardian of Angel Island and the Master Emerald. He uses his sharp knuckles to smash through huge objects. He's Sonic's friend and rival. He returns to get Angel Island back into control from the strange dark energy.
