Screamy is a mysterious white blob-like creature with red eyes who teams up with Luigi in order to find the Marvelous Compass in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Before joining Luigi, he was found in the Rapturous Ruins.
On his quest to find the pieces of the Marvelous Compass, Luigi was led to the Rapturous Ruins to find one of the pieces. Here, he met Screamy, who joined his party. It is unknown how Screamy and Luigi first met or what his motives are, though he does say "I must deliver something..." It is unknown what species Screamy is, though he does resemble a scoop of ice cream, which his name appears to be based on.

In the upcoming game, Screamy returns as a quite strong character with impressive attacks, such as the ability to turn invisible and the control of weather and lightning. Though his species and origin are still unknown, the game may give him a backstory...

- Brown and purple NPCs that look like Screamy were going to appear as enemies, but were removed from the final game.
- These creatures may have been the prototype for the Smorg, which is supported with them being named "moa" in the data files, while the current Smorgs are named "new_moa".
