Super Mario Bros. 2 is an American live action film based off the video game series Super Mario Bros., and the sequel to Super Mario Bros. (2012 film). It was released in the UK on August 12th, 2014, in the U.S. on August 14th, 2014, and Japan on August 15th, 2014.

Plot[]

Four months after the events of Super Smash Bros. (film), Dry Bowser (Hugo Weaving) is being held in the Galactic Federation Maximum Security Prison. However, a mysterious being sneaks into the prison, takes out the guards, and breaks out Dry Bowser, and accidently releases a man named Dimentio. The being and Dry Bowser runs away, but Dimentino teleports to another location. Back in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario (Walker Boone) and Luigi (Tony Rosato) are relaxing in their house, eating spagetti. However, Shadow Mario (Ryan Drummond) attacks the two brothers, but fails to destroy them. The Mario Bros. follow Shadow Mario, and find that Dry Bowser is out of the prison. They know that they cannot defeat the two villains, so they decide to get more training. Princess Peach (Tara Strong) offers to hire The Master (Paul Doubson), an excellent training master, to train the Bros. The Mario Brothers accept the request, and The Master arrives shortly after that.

However, before the training can begin, Shadow Mario, piloting Mecha Bowser, attacks Peach's Castle. With the help of The Master, Mario and Luigi manage to destroy the robot's arms before it escapes. The castle is too badly damaged for the Bros. to continue training, so The Master takes Mario and Luigi to his dojo, far out in the Mushroom Outskirts. The Master surprisingly does not train the brothers, but tells them tasks to do, showing the Bros. that the training is in their hearts. However, those tasks include creating special tea for The Master, running up the tallest mountain in the Mushroom Kingdom backwards, and even seeing how much fighting the brothers can handle. Frustrated, the brothers try to defeat The Master, but are easily knocked out.

The next day, the brothers awake back in the dojo. However, they find out that while they were training, Mecha Bowser returned and kidnapped Peach and The Master, who was discussing the Bros. progress. Horrified at what happened, they find two magical capes, but find they cannot wear them. Instead, they use two Fire Flowers and burn though storms of Koopa Troopas and flying Goombas until they reach Dry Bowser's Castle. With their Fire Flowers, they face off with Mecha Bowser one last time, destroying it along with Shadow Mario. They run though the castle, franticly scearcing for the princess. What the find though, is the complete opposite.

Dry Bowser challenges the brothers, and they agree to the fight. They get into a gigantic fight, leading in the total collapse of Dry Bowser's fortress. But Dry Bowser laughs and reveals a trick of his own, the Metal Flower. Dry Bowser powers up and knocks the brothers flying away. However, the capes that Mario and Luigi found in the dojo starts glowing gold. They wear them, and find that they can fly, has increased strength and speed, and can fire golden fireballs. Dry Bowser fights the powered Mario Bros., but Dry Bowser is this time defeated by the brothers. To make sure Dry Bowser never returns, the brothers scatter his bones though the world, leaving the skull in the ruins of the castle. However, they remember about the princess and The Master, and rushes back to find them. They rescue the princess, but The Master is nowhere to be seen. They return to the Mushroom Kingdom and celebrate Dry Bowser's final defeat.

As a post-credit scene, glue goop resembling Shadow Mario, crawls out of Dry Bowser's ruined castle and Dimentio picks it up, saying that he was not released on accident, as there is no such thing as an accident, hinting for another sequel. As another scene, Mario and Luigi are eating in a Chinese resturant, with The Master secretly watching from a nearby cliff, smiling.

On October 14th, 2012, Bigbro223 ^(t∣b∣c) was announced to direct the film. "I am very proud to direct the film," Bigbro said, "But creating it is very challenging because how I want it to be as successful as the first film."

Liking how Bigbro liked Paul Dobson's voice as Sensei Wu in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, Bigbro hired Dobson to voice The Master, and Dobson agreed on the job. Bigbro also hired Ryan Drummond because of how he acted out Metal Sonic's lines in Sonic Heroes very meancingly.

On March 24th, 2014, the release trailer was revealed, much to the hatred of fans.
