Super Mario Galaxy: Deep Space: Into the Unknown is part one of the Deep Space trilogy of video games for Nintendo Wii. It stars Mario, and if two players are present, a luma that follows. It is rated E for Everyone and is a 3-Dimensional platformer. Yoshi is in this game but is now more of a burden rather than a tool. It is more realistic, having the events in an alternate dimension.
In the Beginning[]
As the story begins, it is two years after Mario Galaxy 2. The Mushroom Kingdom is holding the second annual Festival of the Stars in honor of Mario's bravery and courage. Then, Bowser enters the scene and nabs Peach. Mario, angry, runs torwards Bowser and finds himself trapped in a floating ball. Bowser laughs and is rudely interrupted by a series of black holes appearing. He sees mysterious beings approaching and they begin to question him. The beings are bored of Bowser doing the same thing all of the time: kidnaping Peach into space. Bowser retaliates, "But... BUT! Its not the same!! I was going to use my giant wrecking ball!" The beings begin to circle around Bowser and Peach and transport them to an Alternate Realm... Mario looks shocked as the beings dissapear with Bowser and Peach, and runs after them a second too late. He stumbles to the ground and looks dissapointed. Then, suddenly, a spaceship crashes next to Mario. It was the Toad Brigade ship, and its leader was the only survivor. He exits the vehicle and tells Mario that they were attacked by some strange organisms, and Mario gives an angry glance to the sky. Mario wispers to the Toad something, and they take off, to be rudely interrupted again by a black hole that the Ship gets pulled into... They transport to another Dimension, the same one as Bowser, Peach and the mysterious beings are, and so the adventure begins!
Gameplay[]
Mario has to go across multiple Star Systems in search of Bowser, getting strange gems along the way. The main area is the Toad Ship, where you can be inside and out. You need a space helmet outside, though. The other Toad is named Toadley, and is actually a new brigade captain elected before the attack. Toadley gives you tips and tells you when you unlock secret things. You have 8 Health points, similar to Mario 64. When you lose all of your lives, Toadley revives you with a Life Shroom. He has unlimited life shrooms but always tells you not to feel "down" when no more are left. Yoshi appears in his own ship, the Egg Star. He sometimes gives you backup and follows you in his ship. Coins are present, you can spin or run into them to get them. Star Bits are also there, you can point the wiimote at them to get them or simply run into them. the Strange Gems are called Rubites and serve as Power Stars. When you beat the Boss of a Star System, you get a Diamond Rubite.

Bowser enslaves many planets under his control, and can watch over anything in any Dimension with his magical orb. The Beings dislike the mistreatment but adore the power. They have always had the ability to control the Universe, but never did, until now. Bowser has a strong military of the regular Mario Bros enemies with a twist supplied by the beings. Also, Bowser's capital is the Sun in the Sun System. It is heavily fortified and not even an ice crystal can get in withought being desinigrated. Mario is oblivious to this until his encounter with the Aquatic System base...
Bowser's Grand Army[]
- Main Article: Bowser's Galactic Army
