Final Smash | Mega Eggdozer |
Yoshi is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Calamity. A green dinosaur that lives on Yoshi's Island, Yoshi can stick his own tongue out and grab things from a distance, pulling them inside his stomach and laying an egg, trapping his enemies in there. He usually is Mario's piggyback ride, but most of the times he tries to protect his island from Kamek and many other evil.
Changes[]
Yoshi retains his Super Smash Bros. Brawl moveset, while still having his aesthetics from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
Yoshi Egg's spots now match the color palette each Yoshi has (ex. Red Yoshi Eggs have red spots on them instead of the usual green spots when the red palette for Yoshi is selected).
Side smash has more knockback and slightly more range.
Down tilt doesn't semi-spike.
Forward aerial is slightly much faster, having less frames than last time and can now spike opponents.
- Head hitbox has decreased knockback.
Yoshi has a different up aerial, a quick headbutt, which deals less damage and knockback.
- It can combo into itself, making it a great juggling tool.
Yoshi's grab can now tether recover, unlike in the previous installments, which also means he can do an aerial grab.
Yoshi's aerial Egg Roll does more damage.
Yoshi has a new up special, Yoshi's Wings, where Yoshi dons angelic wings and flies a short distance diagonally upwards. The move is an actual third jump than his former up special. It can even be cancelled with a down special to keep the wings to have two midair jumps.
- The move is still a terrible recovery move, due to its short range.
Final Smash has been changed and it's a directional Final Smash instead of a transformation Final Smash.

Alternates[]
Credit goes to Pokerninja2 (t∣b∣c) for the Yoshi's alternates, credit goes to Mirai Moon (t∣b∣c) for the Yarn Yoshi alternates, and credit goes to SonicWiki (t∣b∣c) for the Boshi art.
Yoshi has two new alternates that resemble the color scheme of the Rexes from Super Mario World and Yoob from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Yoshi has a new Yarn Yoshi alternate which gives him yarn aesthetics like in Yoshi's Woolly World, and more alternates for it. Yoshi also has an alternate costume which turns him into Boshi. Despite acting similar to Yoshi, with the difference is that he is slightly slower and stronger, and uses shady blue egg aesthetics, the announcer and crowd acknowledge him as a separate character.
