Rollodillo is a recurring boss in the Mario series, first appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2. He is a giant, blue armadillo-like creature with a reptilian face. He has a hide made of pieces of rock which cover and protect most of his body. Like real-life armadillos, Rollodillo will curl into a ball and try to ram into Mario as his main attack. His weakness is his rear, which isn't covered by rocky hide.
History[]
Super Mario Galaxy 2[]
Rollodillo first appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2 as a boss. He is encountered in Boulder Bowl Galaxy, during the mission "Rock and Rollodillo". When Mario reaches his planet, he will roll to him while curling in a ball, before getting into a battle stance and battle him.
Rollodillo's main attack involves rolling around the arena. His rocky hide makes him invincible while performing this move, and he damages Mario if he hits him. After rolling, he will become dizzy, leaving his rear exposed. To damage him, Mario must use a Rock Mushroom to become Rock Mario, then roll into his rear. Rollodillo must be struck four times to defeat him; after this, he disappears, leaving behind a Power Star for Mario to collect.
