This is a listing of all fighter-related trophies in Super Smash Stadium, the Video Game. The trophies in this article typically consist of anything that might appear as part of a fighter's moveset.
Trophy Name | Description |
---|---|
Blunderbuss |
In DK Country 2, K. Rool decided to ramp up his pirate motif to extremes, and became Kaptain K. Rool. When you fought against him, this was the weapon he used against you. It was capable of shooting cannonballs, barrels, and various gas clouds. In what was arguably a rare example of a canon Kaizo Trap™, it was possible for you to die after you officially defeated him if you didn't dodge the backfiring that you caused by jamming up this thing with a cannonball. |
Bomb |
Lamp oil. Rope. This item? You want it? It's yours, my friend, as long as you have enough Rupees! All three Links use some variant of this item as their down special, and it's quite useful. In the Zelda series, Bombs are used to blow holes in areas, allowing Link to access new areas that he might otherwise not be able to reach. Very, very, VERY early in SSS's existence, this was also an item, but it didn't last very long in this role and was ultimately replaced by Bob-Ombs. |
Boomerang |
A staple of Link's arsenal, you can use this item primarily to solve puzzles. Its ability to do combat is limited; while it's handy to kill very weak enemies, the majority of them will be trouble. The DS and 3DS Zeldas allowed you to use the Touch Screen to control which direction the boomerangs would go! |
Bow and Arrow |
Yet another staple of Link's arsenal, this is his second most used item in the Zelda series behind his sword. The arrows are extremely versatile and have been used to kill enemies and solve puzzles. In SSS, all three Links and Linkles have this as their neutral special, and while it's not a strong move for them, it is good at disrupting opponents and setting up combos. Don't forget about your arrows! |
Bowsette |
Since New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe seems like a straight-up port of the original game, many gamers were surprised to see Toadette as a playable character, and even more surprised when she got a powerup unique to her, the Super Crown, which turns her into a "new" character known as Peachette. The fandom subsequently went wild, and began applying the Super Crown to other characters. Bowsette happens when Bowser gets the Crown. Bowsette has never appeared in any official games, and is in SSS as one of Bowser's alternate costumes only as an honorable mention more than anything else. But since Bowser retains his original voice clips in this form, and the announcer still refers to him as Bowser, it's unclear if this is an Echo Fighter or not. |
Mario's former side special involved the cape that you would gain upon collecting this item. Caped Mario was an "evolved" form of Raccoon Mario from Super Mario Bros. 3 who could potentially fly across an entire level if you mastered the somewhat squirrely controls needed to make him fly. | |
In Super Mario Odyssey, with Mario's own hat having been shredded to bits, Cappy decides to replace it instead. A resident of Bonneton in the Cap Kingdom, Cappy had the love of his own life kidnapped, who Peach just coincidentally happened to be wearing when Bowser kidnapped her. Cappy proved to be useful to Mario's quest; among other things, he could possess certain enemies, allowing Mario to use them for his own gain! On SSS, Cappy replaces the cape as Mario's side special, allowing him to reflect projectiles. | |
File:Crownerang.png | K. Rool's signature attack in DKC1. As the name implies, he throws his crown at DK and Diddy Kong like a boomerang. But, he's left vulnerable by doing this, as DK or Diddy can simply jump on his head. Similarly, here on SSS, while this is great for racking up damage on opponents, they can just simply take the item and use it against K. Rool. |
Dark Link |
Probably the second most frequently-recurring villain in the series next to Ganondorf. Evidently Nintendo's answer to Metal Sonic, he's a shadowy manifestation of Link that can do all of Link's moves, making for a particularly difficult battle. |
Deku Link |
Young Link transformed into a Deku Scrub. This power allows him to traverse water by skipping over it like a stone, gives him immunity to poisoned water and currents, allows him to fly using Deku Flowers, and lets him spit out bubbles. While not exactly the strongest of Link's transformations, it IS the most useful. |
World 1 of New Super Mario Bros. DS seemingly ended just like the original, with Mario destroying a bridge to chuck Bowser in lava. But Mario was in for a surprise when he MELTED BOWSER'S SKIN OFF, resulting in the Koopa King becoming a Dry Bones! Dry Bowser, with his deeper, altered voice and blue flames, has been a fixture of the Mario series ever since. | |
Ellie the Elephant |
Attempted replacement for Rambi who didn't quite get off the ground, but she did have some good qualities that didn't make her a total failure. She had the ability to scoop up barrels and drop them in the water, as well as suck up water with her trunk and shoot it at enemies. However, she was deathly scared of Neeks. |
One of Ryu's alternate costumes here on SSS. In some Street Fighter games, there is a character named Akuma who can use the Satsui no Hado. If he uses it on Ryu, this guy awakens. As you might expect, Evil Ryu is a killing machine, with a lust for blood and power. Much like Ryu, he constantly wants to be the strongest fighter ever, and Evil Ryu thinks little of killing others to achieve this goal. | |
Born in Nantucket, Massachusetts, this "singer" is the incredibly wonderful voice behind such "hits" as All About that Bass, Dear Future Husband, and...
...Wait. This is just a ridiculously fat Shy Guy. Because it's so fat, whenever Yoshi eats one, it produces a GIGANTIC egg that Yoshi will have some trouble throwing. To compensate, whenever the egg hits the ground, every enemy on screen becomes a little star that Yoshi can collect. | |
File:Feather Crossbow.png | The weapon that Tiny Kong used in DK64. However, here on SSS, it's DIXIE Kong's neutral special. How? Well, Dixie is Tiny Kong's older sister. In Dixie Kong's hands, the feathers hurt quite a bit, but aren't exactly killers. |
Fierce Deity Link |
Oddly enough, this is one of adult Link's alternate costumes here on SSS even though it only appeared in Majora's Mask (and thus would only be available to Young Link). The main enemy of Majora's Mask is a Skull Kid possessed by Majora's Mask, but this transformation is what happens when Link takes the Mask for himself. Drunk on power, Link becomes a godlike figure with immense power who is capable of amazing feats. However, he can only use this transformation in boss battles. |
A Copy Ability that Kirby gets if he Copies Knuckle Joe or any similar enemy, this allows Kirby to use various fighting moves. But here on Super Smash Stadium, he's using those moves without Copying anyone. Strange, isn't it? | |
One of the first Copy Abilities that Kirby could ever obtain, it's also the most ubiquitous, as there are a lot of ways Kirby can obtain this. While Fire Kirby can't be obtained in SSS per se, his dashing attack lights him on fire much like the ability. Also, Copying Mario, Luigi, Bowser, or Charizard allows him to use a fire-based attack for his neutral special. | |
A strange living creature made of four fireballs. Typically found in desert levels for some reason, although a few have made their way to volcano levels. On SSS, this thing was briefly tried as an Assist Trophy, but didn't really do much in that role. Since the debut of Final Smashes in May 2004, however, Fire Snakes have become part of Daisy's Final Smash...the Angry Sun leaves them behind after exploding. | |

Flower Pot |
Every now and then on Urban Champion, a woman would throw this thing down from a second-floor balcony. Anyone hit by this thing lost 5 HP (in a game where both fighters started at 200 but would lose 1 just for punching) and was dazed, leaving them wide open. On SSS, Urban Champion himself uses this move for his down special, potentially Meteor Smashing or burying opponents, and instantly breaking shields...which dazes opponents. Some things translate surprisingly well to Smash! |
On his maiden voyage to Isle Delfino, Mario has been wrongly accused of polluting Isle Delfino, and is sentenced to clean it up. Whatever shall he do? Enter the Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device, who also doubles as a jetpack, rocket, and speedboat engine. On SSS, Mario can use FLUDD to push enemies back, helping with his edgeguarding. | |
Garbage Block |
One of the possible stones that Kirby can turn into using his down special, this block comes from a multiplayer mode of the essentially Japan-only series Panel de Pon, which has been released internationally in weird ways. Most notably, the debut game was released in the U.S. as "Tetris Attack" despite bearing no resemblance to Tetris and instead featuring Super Mario World 2 characters. Nintendo of America was authorized to use the Tetris name for the game, but Tetris's American rights-holder at the time, Henk Rogers, claimed in 2009 that he regretted doing this despite liking the game. Future games in this series have been called "Puzzle League" in the U.S.. |
Part of Dedede's side special, this living spiked ball is a frustratingly common occurrence in the Kirby franchise. It acts solely as an obstacle and is generally invincible. It may have also appeared in the hippo level in Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins. | |
Kirby's side special on SSS derives from this ability, typically obtained in his own games by Copying a Bonkers or King Dedede. It's usually his most powerful Copy Ability, but his most unwieldy. On SSS, as has been the case since Smash 4, Kirby's Hammer move acts like Dedede's down special: it has the potential to do serious damage, but charge it for too long, and Kirby begins to take recoil at the rate of 1% a second! | |
Hylian Shield |
Link's trusty shield. On SSS, in his hands, it negates all damage from projectiles that hit him from the front, and halves knockback as well. Young Link's Kokiri Shield does the same thing despite being made of wood. It's also a possible power-up that you can get in the Hyrule Market stage, and it gives you the same effect for 15 seconds. |
This Piranha Plant spews ink all over your screen, which makes it impossible for you to see. Unfortunately, because this isn't Mario Kart, you can't use a Mushroom or jump into water to clean the ink off, but you can blow into your 3DS's microphone. Just like fixing a broken NES cartridge, apparently: BLOW ON IT! | |
File:Jetbarrel.png | One of three abilities Diddy Kong can learn in DK64, and it's become a staple of him ever since. In the original game, he could use it by jumping into a barrel with his face on it, but he had to be careful, as like with all barrel moves in the game, it used up Crystal Coconuts, and if he ran out of "gas", he'd be in a pickle. It was quite versatile, allowing him to explore areas other Kongs couldn't, light up torches in two rooms, and pick off enemies with his popguns. Diddy couldn't use first person view, though. |
Kiddy Kong |
Dixie Kong was responsible for babysitting this guy in DKC3, and it's a good thing she did, too. Kiddy was already extremely strong at his age, and had the ability to skip over water like a stone, which was underutilized somewhat. Sadly, Kiddy hasn't seen much action since. |
File:Sss-kirbyhats1.png | This is what Kirby looks like after he's Copied all the other fighters that debuted in Season 1 of SSS, including retired fighters. If you really want to troll opponents, Copy King Dedede! |
File:Sss-kirbyhats2.png | This is what Kirby looks like after he's Copied all the fighters that debuted in Seasons 2, 3, and 4 of SSS, including retired fighters. But can you seriously tell Ninten Kirby apart from Ness Kirby? |
File:Sss-kirbyhats3.png | This is what Kirby looks like after he's Copied all the other fighters that debuted in the 1970's, including retired fighters. Marth Kirby is probably the cutest death your money can buy! |
File:Sss-kirbyhats5.png | This is what Kirby looks like after he's Copied all fighters that debuted on SSS in the 1980's, including retired fighters. Don't let that big hair and those shoulder pads get in your way! |
File:Sss-kirbyhats5.png | This is what Kirby looks like after he's Copied all fighters that debuted on SSS in the 1990's, including retired fighters. Is Ridley Kirby too big? |
File:Sss-kirbyhats6.png | This is what Kirby looks like after he's Copied all fighters that debuted on SSS in the 2000's, including retired fighters. Can you handle the sheer cuteness of Lucario Kirby? |
File:Sss-kirbyhats7.png | This is what Kirby looks like after he's Copied all fighters that debuted on SSS in the 2010's, as well as Toon Zelda (currently the only 2020's fighter). Whether or not Bayonetta Kirby is a better feminist killer than the original is for you to decide. |
File:Kokiri Sword.png
Kokiri Sword |
Young Link's starting sword, and at least in his home games, it's the weakest, too. However, on SSS, it doesn't appear to be any weaker than the swords of the other Links when adjusting for the characters' stats. The Kokiri Sword also appears on Hyrule Market as a random drop by the shopkeepers. Picking it up allows you to use a sword, too, at least temporarily. However, if you're already using a sword character, such as the Links or Marth, you won't be able to use this item. |
File:Magic Wand.png | An item that's been used by a large number of characters in the Mario series. Here on SSS, it's part of the special attacks used by both the Koopalings and Rosalina, and it was used by retired Assist Trophy character Kamek, as well as the rest of the Magikoopa clan. Bowser Jr. uses a magic paintbrush, which is kind of a variant. The magic generated by these wands is about as varied as the characters using them. |
File:Manhole Cover.png
Manhole Cover |
One of few projectile weapons that Urban Champion can use against his opponents in his home game. The ultimate goal of the game is to knock your opponents into the exposed manhole. This may be the start of a mechanic that was done better in Sega's Streets of Rage series. |
At some point during his invasion of the Sprixie Kingdom, Bowser happened across that world's main gimmick, the Cat Bell, and used it to assume this form. He fell to Mario all the same. While this is one of Bowser's alternate costumes on SSS, it sadly affords him no advantages over his regular form. | |
File:Mushroom Castle (Marth's version).png
Mushroom Castle (Marth's version) |
St. Clair Publications' The World of Nintendo featured a story arc where Peach was pressured into abdicating her throne after multiple scandals. For the rest of the series' run, and up to about April 2016 on SSS, Marth replaced her. This is what happened as a result. On SSS, this also led to Marth being rebranded as a Mario character, complete with an entrance from a Pipe and a Mario-esque victory theme. The history of both the Mario and Fire Emblem franchises would certainly be a lot different if Nintendo made this canon! |
Copy a Bio Spark or Moonja, and you get this out of Kirby, allowing him to chuck throwing stars or knives, vanish, and fight with a katana. Most notably, Kirby's up throw here on SSS appears to have derived from "Air Drop", a technique he can use when he's in this form. | |
File:Peanut Popguns.png | The gun that Diddy could obtain from Funky Kong in DK64. Oddly enough, despite being two guns, and functioning as such normally, when you're in first person mode, it acts like one gun. These guns are also part of Diddy's neutral special here on SSS, as well as his Final Smash. The former has an "overheating" mechanic that'll make the gun explode and hurt Diddy if you charge it for too long! |
DO A BARREL ROLL!!!
The oldest member of the current Starfox team (probably because he was a member of the original team, with James McCloud and Pigma), Peppy eventually retired, although he continues to serve in the series in an advisory role, eventually taking over the Cornerian Defense Force on the death of General Pepper. To an outsider, he doesn't seem to have let James's death as well as that of his own wife, Vivian, get him down, but to an insider, the truth is unclear. | |
The umbrella that Peach used in Super Princess Peach. He apparently was a human once, but got cursed to be an umbrella somehow. Peach uses him here on SSS as well, after over two decades of using a generic umbrella, but he doesn't change any attack she uses with the umbrella in any substantial way. | |
The boss of the Piranha Plants, known for his ginormous head that I'm surprised his body is capable of holding up, as well as for being the most unbalanced character in any sports game he appears in, with Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour delivering a good first impression of what you can expect with him. This is not Petey's first rodeo: he appeared in Brawl's Subspace Emissary as a boss, and he's part of Piranha Plant's Final Smash! | |
Phantom |
Some of the most powerful regular enemies that Toon Link will face, Phantoms can easily take him down with a sword swipe. His best strategy, then, is to avoid them. Oddly enough, despite appearing in Toon Link's games, this is Hilda's down special on SSS (and formerly Zelda's, in Smash 4 and Ultimate). |
The vacuum Luigi uses in the Luigi's Mansion games. It may seem like an ordinary vacuum, but it was enhanced by E. Gadd to be able to suck up ghosts! How exactly the vacuum is able to contain those ghosts, who should be able to phase out of it easily, is a mystery. It also has a reverse function that allows it to shoot out certain "elemental ghosts". In Mario Kart DS, Luigi even had a Poltergust for a Kart. | |
The last of Ness's three partners. Poo is the prince of a region known as Dalaam, and prior to the events of the game, he was undergoing very intense training. It's possible that this training is what gave him PK powers, as he is able to use PK Freeze, PK Thunder, the PK Magnet, and most notably, PK Starstorm, which Ness has as his Final Smash here on SSS but can't use in the game proper. | |
A very spiky Piranha Plant that Mario can't touch outright. Often holds Power Stars or other important items, or acts as an obstacle. Piranha Plant turns into this for its side Smash. | |
File:Propeller Pack.png
Propeller Pack |
K. Rool used this as part of his "Baron K. Roolenstein" costume in DKC3, and here on SSS, he uses it for his up special. It's quite a powerful move, able to take him a long distance, and the propeller neatly slices most anyone who might Meteor Smash or edgeguard him. |
A type of Piranha Plant that balances a spiked ball over its head. This makes it much harder to get around. You have to wait until it blows the ball up high, then quickly go in between them. Or, you could just use fireballs... Ptooies were notable for being the first Piranhas to be seen outside of pipes, and some of them could walk, too. On SSS, Piranha Plant's neutral special causes it to act like a Ptooie, hitting opponents with a very strong spiked ball that does massive damage. | |
Found in jungle areas, this Piranha Plant is capable of poisoning its enemies. Hence the name. While some might argue the Piranha Plants in Super Mario Sunshine are the same, they're really not. Despite this, Piranha Plant's side special sees it using Putrid Piranha toxic gas, which can rack up damage on opponents fast. | |
Rattly |
One of the Animal Buddies found in DK Country 2, this guy essentially replaces Winky from the previous game. He has the ability to jump super high, and can kill enemies that even the Kongs can't touch, such as Zingers. However, Toxic Tower hints that he might not do well under pressure. |
Shy Guy |
What makes Shy Guy so shy? The world may never know, but this little masked guy is practically everywhere in the Mario series and especially the Yoshi series, where it essentially acts like a Goomba. |
File:Skis.png | The snowy mountain areas of Yoshi's Island are sometimes so difficult to traverse that Yoshi needs to use these skis to get through. Unfortunately, for some gamers, ski levels can be an exercise in frustration, as the slightest touch of anything turns Yoshi into a snowball unable to jump, leaving him helpless as he rolls off a cliff and dies. The key to winning is good timing. |
An excellent mechanical engineer and inventor. The problem, though, is that he's often called on to fight in an Arwing with the rest of Team Starfox, and he's very poor at this. Because of this, he's often seen as the worst member of the Starfox team, and is a bit of a hated character. Maybe if the games would play more to his strengths, he'd be perceived better. Slippy is the alleged designer of many of the weapons that Fox and Falco use on SSS. | |
Spear Guy |
Really bad African stereotype Shy Guys. Obviously, they hold spears, which will hurt you to touch. This, as well as their shields, makes them hard to kill. They've also shown up in the main Mario series on occasion, albeit only in sports and Paper Mario games. They may have even appeared on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, six years before their "true" debut! |
