A Spiky Piranha Plant model.
Spiky Piranha Plants are a sub-species of Super Piranha Plant. They have a green, thorny, stem that supports their red thorn-covered black head. When they see Mario, they will slam their head to the ground, trying to hurt Mario. Due to the red thorns, Mario cannot stomp its head. Mario will have to use other means of defeat such as: explosive enemies such as Bob-ombs or Bullet Bills, power-ups such as Fire Flowers or Spike Mushrooms or objects like POW Blocks or Koopa Shells. Ice Flowers and Penguin Suits are useless against Spiky Piranha Plants, since they are a sub-species of Super Piranha Plant, they will just break free from the ice, unharmed.
