Series. Artwork takes time to make and may require delays in updating this page. Remember, this article is under construction.

Gameplay[]

Super Smash Bros. Slugfest sticks to its roots by following the battle system featured in previous Smash Bros. titles. Players select a fighter from a vast array of iconic video game characters in an attempt to conquer opponents by duking it out on one of the thirty-six available stages. Any of the fifty-two Nintendo and third party characters will begin the fight with 0% damage, although the percentage will quickly rise when these characters receive attacks from their foes. The higher the percentage a fighter has, the higher the chance that the character will go flying off the arena. The last one standing, or the one who has the most delivered KO's or coins, depending on which mode you play, ultimately is the winner.

Controls[]

Simple Conrols[]

Fighters move around the stage using the left Analog Stick. To jump, flick the Analog Stick upwards, and again to perform a double jump. Characters such as Kirby can jump multiple times before returning back to the ground. To pass through platforms or to perform a crouch, tap the Analog Stick down. By pressing the D-Pad, a character can perform one of their three taunts.

Smash Attacks[]

By pressing the A Button, a fighter's smash attack will be unleashed. These simple jabs, kicks or slashes will not produce much damage to opponents, but by tapping the A Button a number of times, a standard combo attack will be performed. By pressing the Analog Stick left, right, up or down along with the A Button, the character will use one of their unique Smash Attacks, depending on which direction the player chose.

Special Attacks []

The B Button will also be utilized in battle. Simply press this button, and a standard Special Attack will be performed. Tilt the Analog Stick left or right to unleash a side Special Attack. Flick the Analog Stick upward to use a characters up Special Attack, which may also be helpful in recoveries. To perform a down Special Attack, tilt the Analog stick downward. Every special move is unique to each fighter, despite some having similar effects or animations. Custom movesets accessed via the main menu allow each character to have a total of twelve different Special Attacks. The player can then decide which fighting style suits them best.

Grabs and Shielding[]

Press either the L Button or the ZR Button to have a character's shield appear. Every character has a unique shield. These shields will deteriate over time and will eventually stun the fighter if held onto too long. Shields are quite useful in blocking both attacks or items, but the character remains vulnerable to grabs. Grabs can be activated by holding down the ZL Button or the R Button. To perform a grab, press one of these two buttons while in a close perimiter to an enemy. Then, using the Analog Stick, tilt in the direction you would like to throw the character. Tether grabs can be ultilized from a further distance than normal grabs, and can also be helpful in recoveries.

Items[]

Various items spawn throughout the battle and are used by the fighters to aid them in battle. Press the A Button when near an item to grab or activate it, and hold down either the ZL Button or R Button to discard or throw the item.
