Paper Mario: Defend the Tower is a Tower Defense game, made by Hybrid Co. and published by Fantendo for the Nintendo 3DS. It features objects, medals, and troops. It was published in the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
Story[]
Princess Peach, in late summer. Relaxing in the grasslands, she smiles in her tower, while drinking a cup of tea. However, all the peace won't last long: Bowser has been planning his greatest plan to kidnap her... And so, he commands all his Goombas, Koopas, Shy Guys, Boos, and even more troops... to attack the tower!
Mario, also in the tower, was resting in his bedroom. However, the floor shaked! He looked through the window... and was surprised. One entire army of minions was attacking the Tower!
They couldn't defend the tower with no weapons, nor question blocks. Mario called Peach, and everybody on the Tower escaped. The tower was now in ruins. What would they do?
Toadsworth called the Toadstool Castle. In contact with the Toads, they send blocks, one machine, and a certainly mad scientist. What could these do?
- This is my latest invention, the Multiplier 3000 - sayed E. Gadd with pride. - This little jewel can create one exact clone of anything. However, it needs money to work. The clones can be more powerful by money, also - thinked he.
Mario entered the machine. And then, soon, clones of him started to appear! Toad also did... but they didn't have more money. They asked E. Gadd.
- They say enemies have money. By defeating them, you win money. But, since you need it, take the basic: 50 Mushroomy Coins -
And so, Princess Peach started to command the defenses.
Gameplay[]
You control Princess Peach, and command your units to attack. You win money with each enemy defeated, and with this money you can either upgrade units, or buy new ones. You need to do research to discover new units (and research is expensive). With the stylus, you place Units strategically to defeat enemies. Each unit has different abilities, like every enemy.
Enemy units come in enemy groups of the same species. After you defeat one enemy group, you'll see one warning that another different will come. You can make enemies come sooner by pressing the NEXT button.
If one enemy unit reaches your tower, you enter in it. You can place units in each floor, and make new floors with money. If the enemy reaches the last floor, and kidnaps Princess Peach, you lose.
You can buy new units, objects, and badges in the Toad Shop.
