Super Smash Bros. Zero is a 2D crossover fighting game made for the Nintendo 3DS and the Enter-Tain, a new title in the Smash Bros. saga, before developed by Twenty-Second Choice. It was abandoned and then taken over by Steli Entertainment, Vaccum Inc. and Hybrid Co. The game introduces a lot of new features, and also contains a new story mode, with multiple different endings. It is the sequel to Super Smash Bros. Uproar.
Story[]
For a full storyline go to Super Smash Bros. Zero/Story.
Drabuu, the cousin of Tabuu, takes over Subspace and manages to reopen all of the Subspace portals that Tabuu had previously made. Many characters are caught and taken to Subspace, but some manage to get away. Drabuu then begins expanding the Subspace, and eventually the entire island from the first game is engulfed. The Halberd and Great Fox take all of the people who had escaped to a new, smaller island where they build a small village. Unfortunately, Drabuu sends his minions out after them and they are forced to split up among the various islands of the World of Trophies. From then on, most of the story changes based on decision's by the player, which leads to the multiple endings in the storyline.

Techniques[]
Shielding and Dodging[]
Shielding and dodging works relatively the same as in the previous games, except that every character gets a personalised shield and certain shields have different features. For example Mario gets a shield of fire which hurts characters that touch it, but also hurts him slowly. Fox gets his reflector, which reflects projectiles but doesn't avoid physical attacks. Jigglypuff can also still use the Shield Jump, where she lets her shield run out which sends her flying upwards higher than any other character can jump.
Trip[]
Certain attacks trip characters over when they hit their feet. Snake can also 'trip' a character by using his grab where he lays them on the floor, however they don't actually trip over they just act as if they had been. Certain characters can perform attacks when getting up from a trip, such as Zero Suit Samus who kicks her legs out and spins when she's getting up.
Wall Jumping/Spring Kicking[]
Certain characters are capable of grabbing onto walls and jumping off, known as a wall jump. This feature was present in Brawl. However, other characters now have the ability to bounce off a wall using certain A moves. For example, when Mario kicks against a wall he will bounce off of it.
Special Features[]
Alternates[]
Characters in this game have alternates; alternates are like different costumes, except some of them even have different moves. Alternates are mainly used when there are characters who are very similar to the alternate-
Mr. Game & Watch[]
Mr. Game & Watch is capable of using the special moves of any other character in the game; he learns them by absorbing the Shadow Bugs in Story Mode when the enemy they came from has had a special move used on it a certain amount of times. His moveset can be changed by pressing the R Button at any time during Story Mode. He can also change colours when a character has collected a certain amount of Shadow Bugs for him. He also gains certain features of the character for example, changing to Mario's colour will turn him red and give him Mario's hat.
Mii[]
For Mii, you can choose any move, even aerials, normals and specials. You can't choose his Final Smash. However, if you put a great move, you need to put one bad move then. Because of this, Mii is mostly balanced. You can choose which Mii to control. If the Mii is taller, shorter, fatter or thinner, he jumps higher or lower, and falls quickly or slowly.
Point of View[]
You can change the point of view in middle of the battle by moving the Circle Pad while pressing L and R. With this, you can change into an over-the-shoulder view, and much more.
StreetPass[]
You can exchange stickers and trophies with the StreetPass. If the 3DS encounters another one with the game, five trophies / stickers from the other player will appear in the game.
Trivia[]
- Hackers have found date for Kumatora, Roy, Sylux, Louie and even Pixar's Buzz & Woody. (Some of these were demoted to assists). Roy even haves most of his moveset finished, but most attacks are borrowed from Marth and Ike. It also seems that Vaati was going to be playable, with his animations reused for boss battle.
- Mona's final smash the Pizza thrown is Pepperoni. The spicyness sets the players on fire.
- Although Waluigi is classed as a Mario character he appeared with the WarioWare Characters.
- Waddel Dee has an alternate costume of Bandana Dee was added before Kirby's Return to Dreamland was released.
- Hackers have also found a file called 'X' with a roster which is Without Waluigi, Mona, Rosalina, Waddle Dee, Lyn, Knuckles and Gray Fox and Baby Mario Bros. Although it is interesting to note that Takumaru and Miciah were added and K Rool, Geno and some others have been moved. The image can be viewed below.
