Mario Kart: Team Riders is a new Mario Kart game for the 3DS. The game will utilizes racing in teams.
The gameplay is quite different to all the previous Mario Karts, but some parts of the past games do return. The idea of 2 on a kart, returns from Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Gliding and Driving Underwater return from Mario Kart 7.
There are many new features to the game. The first is Team Races. Team Races allow the player, to race in teams. Team Mode replaces normal mode racing. Another feature is teaming up. Teaming up will allow the player to join their kart to another teams kart, as long as that kart is on their team. This makes the kart much stronger, and more items can be held. However, this makes the kart harder to control. Some features like Tricks and Coins return, but Kart Customization does not. This game also revives the Special Items.
