Mario & Luigi: Pokemon Probz

Mario & Luigi: Pokemon Probz is the latest, last, and 6th canon title for the Mario & Luigi series, being the sequel to Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. It was released on January 29th, 2023 for the switch, had a small sale on Febuary 25th - 27th, then another sale on March 8th - 13th, all in 2023. The game follows Mario and Luigi as they go through the worlds of both Mario and Pokemon to save them both from Bowser's tyranny.

Summary[]

After Bowser loses again to Mario and Luigi, He stumbles upon a Charmander, questions what it is, than finds a large portal, which connects to the Pokemon World. Bowser finds a Pikachu and Eevee, then just throws them far away. Then decides to look at the pokemon, curious.

Back at the ranch(that's a fancy term for Meanwhile), at Mario and Luigi's house, the bros are outside on a snowy day drinking hot cocoa. However, the Pikachu and Eevee slam directly into the Bros, merging them together. When the bros wake up, Mario's a Pikachu, and Luigi's an Eevee. They quickly find out and go to find peach. After a bit of traveling, the Poke-Bros get attacked by a Druddigon. Luckily, Starlow finds them and teaches the bros how to battle as Pokemon, turning herself into a clefairy to demonstrate. After it is pacified, the bros thank starlow, who goes to her normal form, and leave.

Eventually, they reach peaches castle, and tell peach the story. She then uses Wish magic(with some help from Starlow, of course) to return them to their original forms. However, the pikachu and eevee are now a part of the bros, and can talk to them inside their head, along with translate and turn them back into pokemon. So, they go to stop Bowser!

Gameplay[]

Like a normal installment in the Mario & Luigi series, you would play as Mario and Luigi, controlling Mario with A and Luigi with B. However, now there is the option to turn the bros into Pokemon(Pikachu and Eevee, respectively) and the attacks will change to fit the two characters.

There is also a new command called Support attacks, which allow a different character other than the Bros. to attack. Even if it's only Aesthetically, they will change between Pokemon and Mario forms depending on what form the bros. are in.

Bros. Attacks:[]

Green Shell: Just like green shells in other Mario & Luigi games
Fire Flower: Just like fire flowers in other Mario & Luigi games.
Hammer Whirligig: Mario and Luigi spin around, holding their hammers outwards, then spinning upwards, and you go upwards by mashing A and B. Then, when they reach the peak height, they slam down on an enemy and either bro will do a spin, and you have to mash the corresponding button. They continue doing this until they eventually fail or get an excellent. Does more damage the longer you go and the more you mash the buttons.
Tramp Stomp: Mario and Luigi take turns jumping on each other to get a good amount of energy, timing the buttons so you press it right before on of the bros stomps on the other, until eventually, they reach the enemies, then both stomp, with the same action command as earlier mentioned.
T-Rex Chase: Exclusive to Mario. Mario will think of a Solution to beat the enemies, before getting an Idea, and leaves. They come back running away, and everyone else sees what he's running from and runs too. The T-Rex chases them, creating shockwaves as they do. Eventually, they give up on Mario and Luigi and attack the enemies instead, always doing a set number of damage. If hit by the shockwaves, the bros trip and the T-Rex then goes for the enemies, doing less damage. You press the bros. buttons to jump up and dodge the shockwaves.
Balloon Ride: Exclusive to Luigi. Luigi will think of a solution to beat the enemies, before getting an idea, and leaves. Mario follows him, however, and sees that luigi is on a Hot Air balloon, and launches a fireball and mario with his hammer, then its a volley between the two, eventually the fireball gets super big. After a bit, Luigi jumps off and launches the fireball, and it lands on the target and burns it. You press the bros' buttons to hit the ball so it goes between them or when luigi launches it at the enemies.

Odor Sleuth(Chain Chomp/Snubbull): Sniffs out a Random enemy, then attacks them. 3 SP
Beat Up(Toad/Nuzleaf): They gather a bunch of toads/seedot, which stampede on all enemies.
